Has anyone got any experience of 3D printers?

I have been playing about with an Anet A8 this week and its a massive pain in the backside to re-level the bed every few prints.

Can anyone recommend one that comes with a self levelling bed or even one with a frame built around it as the Anet is pretty flimsy. We use it to rebuild broken frames on computers or laptops and the test prints on the anet were pretty decent for the quality we need.

I shelved the Anet a8 and moved onto the creality CR10.

We have now a small library of parts for broken laptops that we can knock out a print in around 20mins. Has saved us a hell of a lot of time in having to strip machines.

Downsides to it would be the time it takes to heat the bed sufficiently but it's a hell of a lot easier to level as and when needed.

I changed filament, now I'm getting under extrusion and adhesion issues. furious

Had similar with cheap filament so i upped the temp to 220 degrees and slowed the speed down.

A good starting model would be something like the Creality Cr-10. Very simple to assemble in well under an hour and get up and printing. It has quite a large heated bed so once you have mastered the basics you can print some large items. I would also spend a little bit extra and get the latest Cr-10 model with the dual z axis motors. I tried an Anet A8 first of all and spent about 6hrs assembley, then it was a total nightmare to bed level correctly.

Software wise i tend to use Fusion 360 along with whatever the latest version of Cura is for slicing.

If you do go down the Cr-10 route upgrade the extruder to a metal version with metal feed cog, this helps stop filament skipping, again i think the latest CR-10 model has this as standard.

I also print PLA striaght onto glass and use hairspray for the bed adhesion and once a month give the glass a good hot wash to remove debris.
