New iPad 2018?

My old iPad needs replacing, it's a bit older than God and is sluggish even starting the browser, let alone surfing (A1430 2012).
Don't need the iPad Pro features (nor price) but the current iPad is pretty much a year old.

In the next round of updates, do you think it'll be updated, or dropped in favour of the all-singing, all-dancing Pro?

If it's not to be replaced/updated, then now's the time to buy, before it's discontinued.

I think I'm going to hold off for a few more months - my existing iPad hasn't quite died yet - it still works for casual browsing and reading The Spectator. I can always resort to my MBP if it gets a bit much.
