I skipped the X as I really, really didn’t want to lose the home button. Just couldn’t gel with the X when I played with it.
I’m hoping for a decent spec, nice screen with a home button, it won’t be too groundbreaking (when is an iPhone ever?) but I’ve managed to stick with my 7 for 2 years now which for me is just amazing, it’s been superb.
I had a 6 before upgrading. The biggest improvement to me was the much better battery life though I also like the improved camera and face recognition.I’m hoping for a decent spec, nice screen with a home button, it won’t be too groundbreaking (when is an iPhone ever?) but I’ve managed to stick with my 7 for 2 years now which for me is just amazing, it’s been superb.

Ready for an upgrade for my 7 and Version 1 Apple Watch.
Not sure if I'm ready to go Plus size yet, but my eyesight is possibly needing the move...
I also have one of the very first watches. It still works well but the battery dies early in exercise mode. Hope they announce an improvement. Not sure if I'm ready to go Plus size yet, but my eyesight is possibly needing the move...

one upgrade i've just realised is never mentioned, but I'm sure would be huge winner with apple users......... increase the amount of icloud data you get for free.
I know they dont actually charge that much for extra, but when you pay a premium for the products, surely they could give 10/20/50gb free?!?!?!?
On that one I’d say you’ve got Bob Hope chance.I know they dont actually charge that much for extra, but when you pay a premium for the products, surely they could give 10/20/50gb free?!?!?!?

Which is one of the reasons why you also won't see a 128GB version. The size most people actually need/want. T.ossers.
If I was making that kind of money or started/owned a company that did would I care what people called me?
I really wanted an improved battery for the watch. I one of the originals which works ok and the battery lasts all day unless I use the workout app. If I set it to walk or cycle for 3-4 hours that kills the battery. I really thought that given the watch is used more and more for fitness they might have improved the battery.
I’ll keep mine going for a while longer.

I've got an iPhone X, bought on launch day. According to the battery health beta it is on 92% capacity after less than a year. I pretty much exclusively wirelessly charge it, I don't know if that makes a difference but it seems a bit.. well crap.
Question is - do I plump for the £25 battery replacement offer that runs until the end of the year (I doubt it'll be done on AppleCare+), or sell as is? Would a new battery iPhone X second hand value be worth an extra £25?
Mines 98% also charged wirelessly. The battery still seems very good though, much better than my old iPhone 6.Question is - do I plump for the £25 battery replacement offer that runs until the end of the year (I doubt it'll be done on AppleCare+), or sell as is? The watch is lovely!
It looks the same but.......different
I've currently got a 3 42mm but the 4 is slightly bigger (we knew that) but seems a lot bigger!
My new phone is currently talking to my 7 and I'm not sure what it's doing
I wanted a new watch, I’m using one of the very originals. I’m just disappointed they didn’t put in an improved battery. Mine lasts all day unless I use the workout app which is very important to me.It looks the same but.......different

The current batteries are light years ahead now

That's amazing. I asked the question in the Apple shop in Stratford, London and was told that the new watches are using the same battery as I already have and I wouldn't see an improvement. If I use the workout app and go for say a 3-4 hour bike ride the watch is using reserve power by the time I get home.
I promise you, you will see a massive improvement Rawwr said:

Not unlike paying for a Porsche when a Ford will also take you where you need to be.
I'm not sure that analogy really works with phones. I mean, they're all cobbled together in the same place, in the same way, using the same materials, by the same people. They're about as reliable each other, last as long as each other, offer the same features as each other, have the same functionality as each other. If you were asked to explain the difference to an alien, you'd most likely be reduced to saying; "This one has some letters on it and this one has a picture of an apple on it."
Whether people buy Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, Motorola or anything else these days, the only real differentiator is the logo stuck to it. It's personal preference and that alone.

Trust me, I'm an Apple fan-boy
Do you or does anyone here know if the cellular version still only works with E Mobile? My phone provider is 3 Mobile and I really don't want to change.MitchT said:
Walked into my local Apple store today and spent some time handling an XS and an 8 having already compared the specs side-by-side on the Apple website. The theory was that I'd then do the rest of my shopping and head back to the Apple store to buy whichever phone had lodged itself in my head as the one I wanted. I ended up going home without either. I want the XS for its spec but the 8 is as large as I feel I can comfortably go. Shame there's no SE sized phone with an edge-to-edge screen for those of us prefer a smaller device. I need to replace my ageing 4S but I'm struggling to decide.
Yes, the 4 was the optimal size imo.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
