Browsing “leakage”..?
Discussion
Half an hour ago I was (quietly) looking at shiny new cricket bats on the Gray Nicholls site. I use Safari on an iPad.
My wife now asks me why her Facebook (also viewed using Safari on her iPad) is showing her ads for Gray Nicholls cricket bats....
Trivial, but how/why is this happening? I don’t want her ads full of whatever toys I might be browsing. How do I stop this? We are both browsing using the same home network. I must have either:
1. Agreed somewhere buried in t&c’s to share details of my browsing history.
2. Missed a security/privacy setting somewhere
3. Something else entirely...?
Thanks in advance..!

She’s using her own iPad. How would cookies on my iPad be visible to whatever is choosing the ads that she sees on Facebook? I don’t even use Facebook..!
I don’t want to have to open “private” browsing windows. I would like all my browsing to be private..!
Surely this is possible without having to contort my browser and/or browsing?

Same external IP address ?
Ding. If you’re not paying for a service, you’re probably the product to be sold.
Is there anything I can do about this? My internet access is via a leased line.
Presumably a household using one router all share one external IP address. Does/can this be changed every (say) 24 hours? Any other ideas?
If I go browsing on Louis Vuitton for a birthday present for my wife, I don’t want her FB to be full of Louis Vuitton ads....
Surely there’s a simple way to stop this?
