Can I fake GPS location?
Discussion
My Employer wants us to start clocking in and out using a mobile app called "Deputy" which records your GPS location on clocking in.
Is there anyway to make my iPhone location at my works address at say 6am while I am at home in bed
Ive used VPN's etc to show myself in a different country for Netflix etc, but is there any way to trick the GPS?
Obviously hypothetically ...........

Sorted Itools pro has done the job.
Its not just an iPhone app (couldn't find one), but a MacBook app which when you plug iPhone into, you can select a location.
To revert back, looks like I just need to turn iPhone off and back on.
Will clock in as soon as I wake up in the morning, and see what the boss says........

Is your pay linked to the hours you work determined by clocking in and out?
Are there contractural and operational reasons for you to be in certain location when you clock in?
If there are, then you need to tread very carefully because if you deliberately falsify the system you can put yourself in very murky legal waters.
No I am salaried, so does not relate to my pay, im told its some BS to do with fire regs.....Are there contractural and operational reasons for you to be in certain location when you clock in?

Is your phone provided by your work?
I would be hesitant to start messing around with GPS spoofing on a device not owned by you, can’t you just turn it off and pretend you forget to charge it?
No its my own personal phone, so pretty sure I can have the GPS set to how I like really.I would be hesitant to start messing around with GPS spoofing on a device not owned by you, can’t you just turn it off and pretend you forget to charge it?
I think some of you guys have missed the point (its about winding up management).
I don't start work at 6am, more like 8am, so when the boss see's ive been at work since 6am.......
Anyway he did not notice (or care).
Im going to set my location at a different location each day next week......
Just set my location to San Fransisco for Monday. (and will just clock in when I get to work).
However one drawback of using a different country is it changes your phone's time, have had to turn off automatic time zone change.
