I have a huawei mate 20x that I have had since its hong kong release date.
For me it is perfect in almost every way, brilliant screen, great battery life, and I love the aspect ratio and form factor, and the properly flat screen, I absolutely hate curved edge screens.
I am a realist though, I have hammered this thing day in day out for nearly 2 years, my work involves heavy phone use in building site environments and nothing lasts forever.
When this does call it a day I cant see anything else that ticks my boxes like this one does.
For me the absolutely perfect phone would be this one, just with added waterproofing, and maybe the latest camera tech.
When this does chooch its last does anyone have any suggestions of massive screen phones to replace this with?
google play services are quite important too, mine is of an age where huawei still has them.

I dont mind spending a grand, but my last samsung note 8 was a bad experience, massive screen burn after 1 year, and battery life and general performance halved by around 18 months, the huawei still has the same battery life and performance has improved from firmware updates at 20 moths old. A lot of the reviews point out flaws in the ultra that shouldnt exist at that price.
If there isnt anything comparable and this does go tits up at some point I would probably just buy the same again then, was just wondering if I had missed anything alternative. I need to be a bit more careful with this one, dropped it a couple of times working up a ladder.
the 5g version has a smaller battery and no headphone jack, I would probably stick with the 4g since the 5g rollout is so slow anyway.
Waterproofing would be really nice though that is the one and only thing I miss from my samsung, although the samsung would constantly reboot in seawater for some reason.
do those dip coatings that claim to make a phone waterproof actually work enough to take my phone jetskiing?

If you are a heavy user consider the 20x, I use mine all day, aiming 4k cctv cameras streaming over 4g, youtube music and sat nav at the same time between jobs, endless bluetooth calls, hotspotting to my laptop, stuff that would see my samsung dead within 4-5 hours this can survive a 16 hour work day with charge to spare without charging during the day.

After wasting some time and money on a z fold i finally found the perfect replacement for a huawei 20x, the vivo x note.
Absolutely fantastic screen on it.
Much nicer to use than a samsung.
