Aargh.... I've just spent fifteen minutes on hold to a distributor to get a price on a bit of software... There's about £15 margin in it for us

Who are the decent SW distributors these days? And don't say Ingram

Shit margins and shit service, no wonder I try to avoid selling software.

what hardware do you sell mate ?
HP... Have a good distie for that, it's the MS and AV stuff that we have to sell on the back of it that really makes the job a pain.

Thats funny ,, we sell to Distis accross Europe
Get my HP distie upselling the other SW I need for a turnkey package and I'll be a happy bunny.

TBH, I can see why SW is a pain, five million part numbers each slightly different from the next, but never the part you actually want. The distie doesn't seem to know what I need and I'm always nervous of speccing slightly the wrong part no. It would be fine if I was doing it every day, but the stuff goes obsolete so there's no point in learning the product matrix. Ordering SW is a pet hate of mine

I think distis sell SW because they have to , and to try and provide a one stop

I thought most SW was sold over the net now ,,
It is, but I can't be certain exactly what part number I need so I have to speak to someone who generally knows less than me...

Know any good UK HP disties that also sell MS and AV SW?
