I have owned a 12" powerbook for a couple of years and am now looking to get rid as I am replacing it a Macbook (coming very son - Wooo).

The Powerbook in question is in fully working order (using it as we speak) and has been great however it was dropped which resulted in the screen been slightly bent and the casing has popped out in one corner of the machine. As stated this has not affected the performance of the unit but I am sure it may have some implication when selling.

My question - where is the best place to get rid of my laptop? I obviously want to make as much as possible and I would have eBay'd it which usually provides a decent return (not including eBay fees) but selling it with these defects may result in a massive loss.

Are there are companies who may take it off my hands as a recondition project?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

eBay

yes

Having sold 1000s of Apple Portables on there having a cosmetic defect weirdly seems to increase the chance of a good price.

It's not a nice job working on the 12" screens either.

Got any advice then to ensure i generate the maximum amount of interest possible for my sale?

Be honest, lots of pics, that's about it really.

People seem to think they can get a bargain by getting one in need of repair and end up getting carried away...

Thank for that. Well if i can get around 500 ish then I would be chuffed. This is going towards a new xbox 360 and projector!

Did the same with my old powerbook - I dropped another laptop on it and it had a decent dent in it. I was crushingly honest, gave loads of photos and got full price for it. I think you might be nearer 500 than 600 for a 12" though.

That is good advice. Well I shall be listing tomorrow so I shall post the listing up here and if you have any questions or thoughts I would be happy for you to give any pointers.
