I have had my car 30 months and two days.........

.......and I haven't got around to doing anything about the CD Autochanger in all that time.

I discovered that it won't eject the magazine, and I am not technically competent enough to work out why.

Does anyone know whether anyone can repair units like this (Kenwood, by the way) before I go tracking down the manufacturer or UK distributor?

Hi Al! Yup all enjoying the sunstroke

Well I have... ...wait for it... ...read the manual [gasp!]...

...tried the reset button - very interesting...

Also checked out the connections, cos the radio has died a couple of times recently through no power.

Anyway, the problem with the CD changer (apart from the fact that I've never known whether it will work but now I've checked it doesn't seem to be picked up by the control unit) is that the "eject" button just isn't there, but the previous owner left it with remnants of the blue button - and neither is there a switch next to it where there should be one. The latter is marked "O<=>N" and is to do with the facility to read info from the CD. I have disassembled the changer as far as seeing that there's nothing behind where the switch/eject button should be. This leads me to the very profound and technical diagnosis: "a bit, wot makes it work, 'as fallen orf". If I go much further I can see little bits of spring and damper assembly pinging across the room ...

Time for the sensible answer of finding a local specialist!

I dunno why I want to fix it, really?! The car sounds great anyway, and we use the minidisk for the occasional input of Led Zeppelin..........
