Just bought a new petrol merc and some problems have arisen which merc say will be sorted when they update the cars software...which ironically they gave me the same lip service when I bought my last..

1. problems with iphone, comand lists contact by surname first...the mb solution put all your cristian names in your phone where the surname should be ...errr but that feks up my phone then.

2. Full beam cannot be held on,, this is for safety reasons, not very safe when in excess of 80mph at night, you can travel faster than the zenons.

3. The Eco mode(engine cut out)is on by default, you can push a button and turn it off each time to stop the engine continually cutting off..but you cannot turn it off all the time-MB say they are working on it..

All in all very disappointing, anyone known MB to do software updates, cause this time I'm going to remember when I change in future it won't just be the car but the make as well!

You can pull the lever for a flash of full beam, push it to put full beam on all the time..
mine is only 2 weeks old=and does not allow to push lever forward, only hold the lever back as if permanently flashing...

I'm pretty sure that under EU emissions regulations the ECO stop/start must be engaged when the engine is started. So not really MB's fault.
You can turn it off every time you start the engine, but in an Audi for instance you can turn off by default

So we never did discover why a feature that conveniently turns the lights on in low visibility or a feature that saves fuel (and can be turned off) is a "known Mercedes problem" then? biggrin
Lights do not go on high beam without "holding" the arm back,
fuel feature see above

Does your car have the switch to the right of the steering wheel that allows you to select from sidelights, auto or dipped beam? If so, and if like mine, to be able to choose 'high beam' by pushing the indicator stalk away from you, you need to turn the switch past auto onto dipped headlights, otherwise the intelligent lights will choose when you can have 'high beam' when the stalk is pushed away from you.
Have intelligence lighting, but I think it's always asleep as high beam never comes on...will try the other way, thanks.

It's a problem, I just want it to be the same as my iPhone, is that too much to expect, ( surely Apple did more research into what punters want than Benz Mercedes)
Terrible you cannot change it, ultimatley I like to list people like John Smith or say Peter the heater...I've almost crunched the car scrolling through surnames and another complaint the voice dialling is sheight 💩
