Hi all

I've got my name down for this beast of a car. Reading the press articles I personally think there will be big demand for this model & my Mercedes dealer has a good few orders already.

Anyone else pre ordered one & what are your thoughts on it so far?

Not sure if I will put mine on a track but looking forward to it nevertheless.

My dealer said they think the launch edition model that will have the loud colours will be AFTER the standard GTR model which will be annoying as that will put me a quandary....... get the standard model quicker or wait for the more expensive/ more exclusive edition model.

Did I hear this is likely to start at about £130,000? More for the edition model?

Re colours, I like loud but not if it's going to be £12,000+ Would you pay that CitySlicker?

I would like to know 1st year allocation to the UK before paying my cash. I noticed the GTS start dropping in price at 9 months then bigger drops at 11-12 months. I think I'd bail out of mine before 9 months.

Agreed if he's right, it is ridiculous CitySlicker.

Your update is good news then if it's now going to be limited!

Yes let's hope it's a cracking car....... smile

Just saw something(dealer email) today saying 150 coming to the UK. I'm interested to see what prices do once their released. I doubt they will be flippable unless reviews are reallllly good,

If 150 are coming to the UK what do you think the prices will do?
Thanks for that useful info effiefara. I've not heard this yet from my dealer. Lazy sods lol.

I expect the car to attract a good premium for the 1st 6+ months.

My dealer had 9 deposits when I checked 5 months ago & I'd expect Mercedes to probably limit production of those 150 cars over a period of 12+ months. Not in their interest to flood the market. Could be wrong though.

Anyone else's thoughts on this would be much appreciated? If the value drops quickly, I'd probably cancel mine.......

Wow that's a big drop on the GTS!

That model seemed to easily hold its value/ attract a small premium for 6+ months. At 12 months prices started coming down from over list to protect b list & now 15-18 months later the values have dropped a lot more.

Fingers crossed for a limited run on the GT-R

There is a mildly more up to date version floating around but I cant find it at the moment.
Very helpful having that link for the GT-R threesisxty. I'm hoping we will hear in a more official manner that this model will be limited to 150 models.

I checked up on this since I was curious. Apparently its 140 cars for 2017, there will be additional cars in 2018.
Threesixty are you getting your info from your Mercedes dealer? My Mercedes salesman from a big dealer says they have no info currently on the GT-R just that it's coming out next year. No idea on allocation etc.

That's a tad worrying then if the UK isn't limited to just 150 total but 150 in the 1st year with more in the 2nd year.

Only a week till order books are open.

What are people's preferences to colours?
CitySlicker I will be able to answer that once I know the prices for the different metallic colours. I want to go for a lary colour, but if the yellow/ green etc are £9000 then I will be going for a cheaper colour as I won't get my money back on that.

What about you?

Will you get one though?
I have had to order my GTR & Black Series from 2 separate dealers because the dealer who is supplying the GTR said i'd be no.6 for a Black Series whereas another dealer said I would be no.1 so they have my order. Lets see........

I'm going for brilliant blue.
That's a very nice colour & I could be tempted myself. I also like the black & grey.

Just been speaking to my salesman & he believes the pricing & spec will now be announced on the 21st November.

He also thinks the Roadster might be launched before the GTR. Who knows when this car will be coming lol as he says they are not likely to announce the delivery dates on Monday frown

Spec was emailed out this morning, option for cage and buckets made my mind up for mesmile
Yep got that too. Standard spec is nice, might have to do a bit of carbon though. Saw that option but doubt I will track mine, so won't order the buckets personally. Tricky one for resale....

Are you going for ceramic brakes? Again prob not going for that on mine but can imagine those who want to enjoy it on the track like you threesixty might enjoy it!

How many of you are ordering the ceramic brakes on your AMG GTR? I'm thinking of def going for this option on mine.

Prob won't track it but will appreciate them on the car having had them on my 458 & Huracan + thinking of the resale appeal down the line when I eventually sell her......

Would appreciate your opinions on this.

Thanks

Fair points Three sixty & Orbtar.

From what I understand we've been told it is in limited numbers & my dealer has about 11+ orders for this model meaning the car should hold its value for some time smile

The GTS model held a premium for approx 6 months & by month 12 started to sell at list/ just under. At 15-16 months about 10k under list. This should do better from my observations. Like 90% of buyers, I wouldn't buy it if it was going to nose dive straight away.

That's good to know three sixty.

Yes I reckon 4+ months of good over list prices.

I've been offered decent money for my slot already but definitely want to take delivery myself & hear that exhaust note for myself then show it off amongst other Supercars in Knightsbridge smile

I've not advertised it anywhere as not looking to sell my slot.

I know a lot of fellow Supercar owners + car spotters & was approached as they know I'm getting this beauty

Are you going for ceramics in the end?
I've decided currently not to go for ceramics 6point2.

I've owned a few Porsche 911 Turbos without ceramics incl a new 991 & had no problems selling them. I think customers who want ceramics will also want the highest spec cars, but I personally think the majority of buyers won't be fussed. Do you agree? (I've had them on my 458 & then a Huracan but it's standard on those models)

Have you ordered them on yours?
