Hi all,

I recently purchased a 2016 C63 on 19” wheels. It is on Michelin super sports although the rears will soon need replacing / really struggle in the cold and wet.
I would welcome any recommendations please for better road use (I don’t need any track performance).

Thank you.

Thanks for the reply’s.
I can’t find the PS4s in the 265/35 size on 19”. Did you have to go widerto get them? Same for the Goodyear.
All the reviews confirm it would give me exactly what I want.

I think you need 265/30 19's on the back not 35 profile. 265/30 have the same rolling road radius as 255/30. The fronts are the 35 profile as narrower.
Tyreleader has the PS2 and super sports but not the PS4.

Thanks for the tip on tyreleader. I will keep an eye on it. It seems PS4s are out of stock at the moment.
Just checked and the rears and fronts are both 35 profile. The rears are 265 and the fronts 245.

Thanks all.

I don’t need new tyres urgently so am going to hold out a bit and see if PS4s come back in stock. I will ring protyre and a few others on Monday and share any information I can find. My understanding is that they are a better everyday tyre than the Super Sports.

Based on reviews and helpful feedback on here I think I would still prefer super sports to continental or Dunlops which are also available in the right size.

Apologies to go over old ground again..

Time really has come for me to fit new tyres to my C63 salon now (19”).

From my research the preferred option seems to be the Michelin PS4s which are now back in stock in my size. Reviews conclude as good as the standard MPSS in the dry but much better in the cold and wet (welcome news!!)

There is also now the new Goodyear supersport (just launched) but not many reviews other than it might be even better than the MPS4s in the wet but ride is a little firmer.

I don’t do track days nor do I need the pinnacle of dry cornering grip, just a well balanced tyre that can improve the cars traction in cold and wet.

Please can anyone share any feedback they have if you have moved from MPSS to something else.

Thanks

Thanks both for the quick response and feedback.

Anything specific about wet traction. I know these cars need a sensitive right foot in the wet and cold but my well worn PSS are lively!

So after all the good advice..

I can get the rears in MPS4s but not the fronts (it was the other way around a few months ago)!

Have rung around a few places and whilst some are showing availability on line for the fronts they dont’ know when the new supply will be coming in. Come on Michelin. Makes me worry in future if I get a puncture and not being able to replace a matched set.

Looks like I will be trying the brand new Goodyear supersport tyres that have just come out and are available.

There is a piece on a website called tyrereviews which covers just that although is mainly focussed on dry grip.

Update:

Fitted Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSports two weeks ago. 19”

I wanted Michelin PS4s but could not get the size as out of stock.

My initial views on the Goodyear (compared to part worn Michelin Pilot Super Sport which I had from new)

Comfort - feels the same as the Michelin, maybe slightly less jarring on potholes
Handling - I am no Lewis Hamilton but feels just as good.
Noise - quieter on motorway but nothing significant.
Traction - big improvement. Goodyears seem to need less heat in them to grip the road. Dry traction - no wheel slip or traction control cutting in when accelerating from standstill. Wet grip huge improvement. Much less traction control intervention under hard acceleration and car feels much more stable. Biggest change for me and has made the car much more driveable in all weather.

I highly recommend the Goodyears if you need new tyres
