Hi all,

First post here, was hoping for some advice regarding a bad experience I had with a Mercedes dealership. Last year, I bough a blue coupe, c250d from a dealership, 2nd hand. After about 6 months the brakes make the most annoying squeaking/screeching sound. I took it to a Mercedes garage who told me that the problem was non-oem brake pads.

I really am not an expert, but I went back to the dealers and even asked other dealers. Pretty much everyone told me that they shouldn't have done that. After going through the levels at the dealership they basically told me they can do what they want and they can't check all the parts to make sure they are mercedes genuine, despite selling it as such.

I have tried to contact actual head office who are basically not interested either. Was really hoping for some insight here as to whether I should just take the hit and replace it myself or if anyone thinks its worth kicking up a stink.

Replies greatly appreciated.
