Not one for ever doing things the right way around I have went out and spend some cash on a 06 alfa gt, Now is the right time to find out if they are money pits or not.

For ref this is my new car http://www.usedcarsni.com/2006-Alfa-Romeo-GT-2-0-J...

Got the car for £4195 and just have to wait on it going through the mot before I pick it up smile

Ok, A bit far on for a update but why not.
Bought the GT and so far has been a case of putting the things the previous owner neglected.
This includes-
timing belt change(including water pump, balance belt etc etc
clutch master cylinder
front lower wishbones
proper Alfa front brake pads
new exhaust including the cats and all sensors(went stainless from cats back)
full service including plugs, all filters and proper graded oil
4 new tyres
new door handle

Now that may look bad but......The car is stunning and its a joy to drive.Everything is sorted to a as new condition and I should be in for a few years trouble free motoring in a good, well sorted car. Yes in total it is £2,600 of hard earned pounds worth of work in the first 8 months of ownership,But if I get a couple of years with just basic service I have saved in the long run with low yearly outlay(man maths are strong in this one)

  • I get it back from garage around 4pm tomorrow once it gets the main water feed pipe that runs across the head from the waterpump replaced.
