I have noticed there is a lot of debate about tyres and what are the best. Well I suppose it depends what your driving but I imagine that all who read this post will be driving or at least are interested in Alfas.

I'm driving a 156 V6 on 205/55/16s, currently with Hankook Ventus 104s on the front and Pirelli P6000s on the back (inherited from the previous owner), all at about 35psi. Whilst I haven't got any serious concerns the car is a bit slippy in the wet and a bit squealy in the wet. Its getting close to new tyre time and I'd like to put on some decent rubber to suit my keen/sporty driving style.

Some have raved about Goodyear Eagle F1s in both wet and dry, others have recommended Toyo Proxes T1-S with similar performance but apparently they wear out a lot quicker. Yokohamas and Bridgestones seem to be personal favourites of a few, but with compromises in handling (either wet or dry) and I don't think anybody has ever tried Nokian NRZi's even though they get a good write up in the mytyres German tyre tests.

So who is driving on what and how do they perform???

Thanks for your thoughts gents, I notice there is a similar posting on Alfa Owner at the moment and the general opinion seems to favour the F1 GSD3s. I haven't found anywhere that sells the BF Goodrich's particularly cheaply, which is the overiding factor in favour of the Goodyears (see mytyres.com). I'm sure that this won't be the end of the debate though.

I still haven't found anyone, anywhere who has tried the Nokians!!!! I'll have to try some Scandinavian sites!!!!
