The last sports classic was a 997 S with some awkward looking 70s bit thrown at it. Very valuable though given it’s low numbers, but easy to replicate if you like that look.
Dont think the Bubble roof is easy to replicate!
Bubble roof? I don’t even know what that is, but fair enough I’m not an aficionado. To me this looks like a 911 with some Farrow and Ball paint, ‘Fuchs’ style wheels, pepita central fabric and a Ducktail fixed spoiler. These are easy to do, as is the bhp in any carrera from 991.2 onwards.

I saw the 997 once in the local OPC being sold on behalf of a customer. I’m assuming the owner didn’t like the vehicle as it hadn’t covered any mileage?!?

I think the interior looks great. The exterior less so. The rear is just too bloated to mimic a classic 911.

I can't help thinking a basic C2S with a duck tail and the Pepita trim would look better.

I didn't get the 997 Sport Classic either. Basically a C2s in a nasty colour with a plasticky body kit. A collectors dream perhaps but not my cuppa at all. There is nothing 'classic' about that front bumper to these eyes:

I am with you on this one, I never liked the 997 SC one london OPC has 6 cars they were a hard sell. Though the 997 2 WD GTS with a Stick was a great car and recall that it was Fav with the PEC instructors. On this new 992 SC, for me I think its the best looking road car that they have bought out for some time love the trim also its unique features. Agree as one pointed out above as road car IMO it Trumps a GT3 in many areas.

Wouldn't the C2S look just as bloated at the rear since they are all widebody now?

Anyone on here actually like the great big ‘60’ decal on the doors and would tick that option?

The lines of the C2S are a bit cleaner without the separate number plate recess:

I actually prefer the raised number plate in the bumper, as it is on the Turbo and Carreras with the Sport Design kit.

I was behind a 992 the other day, looked amazing and so wide and muscular. And then the light beam just tops it off!

Nope

I saw one of those Heritage targas the other day with the number and other nonsense on it, looked utterly ridiculous IMHO, like a nice car that the owner wanted to pretend was racing around a track in a competitive race.

Agree. It looks like the rear boot has been mistakenly left open. It’s an abomination of a design that spoiler.

It's definitely less fussy and less aggressive. Not sure if it would distract or enhance the massive expanse of plastic between the number plate and light bar. That area just continues to look so unfinished to me.

I would have 1 of these over a 992 gt3 all day long. Will be an epic road road.
I just prefer it and its what you feel at the end of the day. In black please.

Also big fan of the Sports Classic. As we all know, Porsche v rarely make a crap car. This will an entertaining car to drive, slightly lighter than the Turbo with more power than a GT3, manual gearbox and possibly the best shape of any modern 911.. think 993C2S… wide body, no side vents.
Can’t wait for first road test to see how it drives vs 992Turbo.

Maybe they should have named it "911 Turbo Classic" and made it a reference to the first Turbo models - e.g., replacing the ducktail with a whale tale. Would have made more sense to me

What this Sports Classic shows is that the side vents in the Turbo's serve absolutely no purpose what so ever...marginally perhaps at a push....but really nothing but decoration and differentiation.

Seems un-Porsche like - don’t they flow air to the intercoolers?

They do but they add zero value to matters, hence why they can be taken away. Grant Larson said so to 9Werks in an interview.

Ah brakes.... well, either way, they serve zero purpose.

So the cool air sent to the brakes doesn’t cool the brakes?
