The Avanti appears to have Appliance Wire mag wheels, not OEM, I guess.
They were the OEM wheels (manufacturer option if I remember) my dad wanted the wire wheel look but the Mag wheels are easier to keep clean....
Is your dads Avanti supercharged?

The early 90s model Toyota Camry as a 2 door.

I think that was a USDM version. They made coupe versions of some drudge-wagons - Camry as seen above, Honda Accord, Chrysler Sebring, I guess they're for the person who not only doesn't want to think about cars but who also doesn't even want to think about doors they won't use.....
I had a v6 accord coupe and it was a wonderful car.

No, stock Chevy 5.4l. The early to mid 80s Avanti's were built on a Chevy Monte Carlo backbone chassis so Chevy running gear and drivetrain we easy to drop in.

Shamelessly reproduced from Wiki....

SW20 Spider

Between 1996 and 1999, Toyota TechnoCraft (TTC) produced 91 MKII SW20 MR2 Spiders. These cars featured a retractable, cloth softtop roof, wingless trunk lid, and an engine lid that was unique to the SW20 spider. Most of these cars were automatics and nearly all of them sported a naturally aspirated engine. Toyota decided against putting its name or logo on these cars as a result of its desire to distance itself from cars that featured leaky roofs. Most of the Spiders came in Lucerne Silver with a blue side moulding and featured black and blue accented cloth seats.

Several of these cars have been imported into the UK

Have the same reaction to this as the Ferraris with buttresses that they inexplicably offer a Spyder variant of, namely: please don’t! Cars with buttresses at the back work really well as targas, they invariably look rubbish as convertibles.

Fair point, EveryDay, love these. The exception that proves the rule, for sure.

Was behind a Volswagen Tiguan R today, I never knew they made a Tiguan R, a dad with a manbun who wears shorts in winter's dream car?

I didn't actually realise it wasn't a normal Tiguan until I'd been behind it for a couple of minutes and noticed the exhausts and badge. I suppose it makes a dull crossover much less dull. I think I might like it.

I'm not sure how this escaped my attention and only became aware of it's existence when watching Fast X. DeLorean Alpha 5

But it doesn't exist, though, does it?

Nope, although I like they quote a 0-88mph time.

Have you been living under a rock? hehe They also may a T-roc R too.

I was eyeing up the Cupra Ateca which is the Seat equivalent before I got my Leon.

Saw one of these last week, for the first time.

No idea what the thinking is - as impractical as an MX5, but ugly and no fun.

They are actually good fun, you even get a turbo version. I like them. Roof up, there is a really big boot, roof down, use the tiny rear seats instead!!

I rented one in Lanzarote once ... it certainly wasn't the worst car I've ever driven.

They used a prototype of it in the film and apparently it goes into production next year. Hopefully the production model doesn't differ too much from the prototype it looks fantastic.
