Anyone know why this hasn't been cleaned up? It's been there for years. Surely the powers that be can't have thought "sod it we'll leave it, it's a bit of a landmark now"?

Quality, I still love this.

Anyone else remember the similar one painted on a bridge over the North Circular near Stonebridge Park for years - 'M Khan is Bent' ??

I have a couple more too.

I used to live in Norfolk but work 4 nights in London, entailing a commute down the M11. When I got to the water tower by the M11 near the junction with the North Circular, that was 'nearly at work.'

When I was a kid, we moved down to Winchester, but as we were from London, many weekend commutes to the smoke were in order. As a kid, it was SO BORING - so when I saw the plastic model cows on top of the dairy at the foot of the A316 - there wasn't too far to go!

For some reason I have a soft spot for the golf ball radar tower on the A37 in Dorset.

Can't explain why, I just do.

I'm sure when I was younger there was something that looked like an early atom bomb just lying on the tarmac next to it, but I may have imagined this bit.

If they did someone would probably redo it within a few weeks, it has a few thousand followers on facebook hehe

Anyone know where the 'will you marry me' one is.. M1 north maybe?

There are too many things that stand out around here now for a single one to mean anything, mine used to be the Bow road Ferodo bridge, it meant that I was on my way to get drunk.

This one sticks in my mind, Huntingdon water tower

Which part of the M25 is that on?

I've seen it before but the only part of the M25 I drive with any regularity these days is the southern half, M40 - M23. I presume its on the northern half, as I've driven that a few times in the past.

I recall the Emly Moor tower near Sheffield, I remember being able to see it from the M1 off in the distance, always wondered what it was and how big it must have been until I Googled it a few years ago. Big! Used to be wooden at one point IIRC until it blew or burned down.

As a kid I remember driving on what may have been the A1 or some dual carriageway in north Lincolnshire / South Yorkshire that had a forest on one side and it would usually have military vehicles parked in laybys or entryways; they seemed to differ each time we went past which was a few times a year when visiting family in Newcastle.

I'm sure it's still there - just up from that massive new estate? Fernwood I think it's called.

No idea where it is or if it's still there but similar to "GIVE PEAS A CHANCE" is "GOOD MORNING LEMMINGS" over a motorway bridge somewhere.

Another Water Tower here - the one in Tilehurst near Reading is visible from the M4. Meant we were soon to turn off and get home to Pangbourne.

Bloody hell, I'd missed that it had gone. What a shame.
