Just love being outside, in the woods noticing the small detail of things

People think I’m odd and they are probably fking right!

That and walking dogs (don’t have one any more frown )

I'm currently learning to read music and play piano. A nice gradual process and highly enojyable.

Poker.

A friend has a decent man cave in his garden and loves the game, and over the years has built up a great bunch of people that randomly turn up for a Friday night game.

All games are hold' em, starts with a tourney and followed by a cash game.

The man cave has enough room for 4 tables, a pool table, fruitties, and a well stocked bar and on a good night you can get around 30 players turn up.

I've lost more than I've won over the last 10 years since I first got interested in the game, but this last year my game has finally taken shape, my best result was just before Christmas on the cash game. I sat down with £100, (my normal cash stake) and walked out a few hours later with £850. I was chuffed with that but do enjoy the social side of it just as much as the game itself.

Mostly swimming....indoor so the conditions are no excuse.

Saying that, took up dragon boating as well and they keep that up all year round. Bloody freezing.

Dogs are excellent soul partners. I guess they're OK as pets as well but nothing beats a long walk in the middle of nowhere with a hound that shares some kind of telepathy with you.

Taking photos.

Working with the public 40hrs a week means I like to spend my free time away from other people.

Road cycling, running, mountain biking, gym, walking, pohotography, model making, gaming, parenting tends to take up a few hours of my time now too, if I'm not doing any of that or at work, I'll stick a film on and zone out for a few hours.

I'm presently losing every spare minute to 3D printing. If the printer isn't running, I get anxious because it's wasted machine time. If the printer is running I get anxious about completing the next design/model/download ready for the current print to finish. Add to that obsessing over settings and print quality and improving print speed and it's a never-ending task.

I thought it would be a bit interesting and maybe occasionally a bit useful. I didn't expect the rabbit hole went so deep...

One can still bike/fish/go to forest in the UK , in the winter.

I have a feeling that reading, crosswords, model building, or learning to play the banjo is not really your bag.
Reading & crosswords sure isn't my thing, topic really is not about the stuff I like smile
Genuinely Interested what others fill their enjoyable time with.
Walking the dogs, running, cycling, music (listening) and gaming when I'm tired out from the other things. This is alongside two young children and a wife.

Things don't stop because of winter. Winter just makes things more challenging, which means you get more sense of achievement when you've run a 10k in the drizzle on the forest (for example).

Great photo. Is that someone sitting on top of the mountain though? Would be proper annoying to want to get away from humans, spend a load of time hiking up a mountain at night, and then find someone else already there!

Apart from the normal stuff I am involved with my local motorclub so spend a reasonable amount of time marshalling on rallies/hillclimbs etc I also have a 32 year old TVR that I fiddle with, drive and occasionally show off at car shows. My other hobby is RC racing, I have 3 different RC cars, a hotrod, an F2 stock car and I have just started racing a mini touring car. All 3 are different, the F2 is raced on an oval, the hotrod is fairly basic but very rewarding to drive, the MTC is a bit different, 4wd fully adjustable suspension front and rear, differentials etc. It is pretty different to drive, massively faster and TBH I am struggling to get to grips with it at the moment but it will come with practice. The RC stuff can be a real time sink, especially with the repairing/fettling and painting new body shells etc

I'm an instructor with the Army Cadet Force. Couple of evenings a week (work permitting) and a few weekends away as well as Annual Camp in summer. I've learnt loads, made some great friends and hopefully have made a positive difference to the lives of some young people.

Also AutoTest/SOLO.

Also have organised a 12 car rally for the last two years, same again for this year.

That sounds pretty tremendous IMO (I'm 31).

A guitar, the gym and a mountain bike are my primary leisure activities, I could probably do with taking them all a little more seriously however!

I like to do jigsaws. I used to do the real thing but it messed my neck up and spreading out the pieces and turning them all the right way was far too much work.

Then I discovered

https://www.brainsbreaker.com

I've got a couple of big monitors and I can make puzzles of any size with my own photos or stuff from Google images.

I have to ration myself because I've always got other (self employed work) stuff to do. Best £20 I've ever spent. The use I've had out of it I would gladly have paid ten times as much.
