It's worth noting that this, like the others, is a dealer special and not a factory release.
These were all manufactured and finished in the factory, but commissioned by the Cambridge dealer. I should know as I inspected all 10 silver foiled carbon roofs.

These were all foiled by hand and on average it probably took 3 attempts to get one good one (laying the foil that is as they were so thin they tore very easily). Once lacquered you passed the point of no return, so if the foil creased or distorted during the lacquering process, the whole roof would have to be scrapped.

I mean heaven forbid someone who can't afford the £315,000 asking price, actually voices their opinion on such a car. Disgraceful behaviour.

Should we all lobby the PH management and moderators to instigate a rule that states that anyone who can't prove the means to buy any car they'd like to express an opinion on, doesn't post ? Or better still, give a lifetime ban to anyone that says anything disparaging about a featured car ?

That'll make the PH forums so much better won't it ?
It probably would actually. Every thread about a new or used car is filled with people slating it. For a forum that's supposed to be for people who like cars, it staggers me how many of the members seem to hate pretty much every car that the PH staff post about. Multiple pages of "It's st/ugly/boring/expensive" on every thread just gets a bit old.

"aerobatic" not "acrobatic".

Saw one in the Donington paddock this summer, looks utterly sensational in the flesh!

People have to be free to say what they think (obviously, within the law). Otherwise, you wind up with an echo chamber that refuses to acknowledge shortcomings. And how far would such a policy go, anyway? I think this is a very bad idea.

No need.
If you read the about the ‘extras’ that came with the car - you got a Red Arrows jump suit in red for the ‘pilot’ and a blue one for the passenger (mechanic’) not forgetting a couple of helmets instead of rear seats.

I like this, the colour looks great, and red Astons are pretty few and far between.
The price though…..

Be interesting to know how many woman purchase these special editions, or if I suspect they are just not interested in the pure juvenility of them?

Timed nicely to tie-in with the allegations of misconduct and a bullying culture within the Red Arrows.
I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunate..

I’d say the price is high as it’s been on AutoTrader for over 29 weeks, but actually I don’t have any problems with the car or the aviation link. I personally think the V12 Vantage Spitfire edition was the highlight of the specials but I don’t see any problem with a customisation of a car like this… what’s the difference between that and specifying an exact view of the night sky on the day you were born for the roof lining of your Rolls? (And no, I can’t afford any of that class of car, but it doesn’t mean I sneer down my nose at it)

Oh man, you're even moaning about this laugh The rules of the forum clearly aren't going to be changed. My point was simply this - it is tiring that every thread about a new or used car is filled with negative comments. PH seems to be the only car forum in the world where most of the members appear to hate cars laugh

I was (perhaps rather ironically) having a moan, nothing more.

Stunning car but a tricky sell at that price.
Obsessed with Daniel Craig AND Tom Cruise AND have a third of a million quid lying about - that’s a very limited Venn diagram of buyers.

To go with the couple of helmets sitting in the front ones, presumably.

Perhaps a new 'rule' - if you want to just complain about stuff, move over to the Mail and you'll be in excellent company!

Fairly certain there are a number of items of clothes in my missus' wardrobe that were bought because "Sale", whereas I ignore nearly every 'sale' email I get in my inbox. Works both ways!

Slightly bizarre post.

There's nothing wrong with being "juvenile" once in a while. Why does everything have to be serious or "grown up"? That's a pretty boring way to live.

Do you think that a large amount of the owners of the standard version are women?

I don't think these special editions really have a lot of thought put into them. Red paint this, silly ribbon that. If I was in charge, I'd have been a bit more creative.

The engine management light would come on randomly and you'd have to go home. If it doesn't do that already.

I'd spill booze all over the cabin.

I'd tt a chicken into it at 500 mph.

And it'd turn out to belong to someone else's wife.
