Boot open on the Triumph, yet no-one anywhere near it (that I can see).

Keep it stiff

Well you can't blame it on the driver activating the key fob in his pocket by mistake!

Sometime '78....Me with Shell nylon rally jacket with Porsche badge sewn on it, not warm at all with a deerstalker and to top it all washing Sprint in the snow!!! Yes I was mad.:

Love that - do you still have the jacket, deerstalker and 'private' number plate...?

The famous insulating qualities of nylon! It sort of sucked the body heat out of you whilst allowing the icy wind to tease your torso. Imaging spending 6 hours in the Keilder Forest wearing it to watch an actual rally!

Got to admire you washing the car in the snow with bare hands. Top work!

On the subject of The Who, Keith Moon's old Rolls which was bought for £3,500 in 1970 by my long-lost great uncle (never met him but he's still alive) and later sprayed green

No I don't have the jacket, but unpicked the Porsche badge before it got chucked. The deerstalker is still in my loft somehere and lastly I still have the personal plate. In a few eeks time I will have owned it for some 45 years.

Is that the one he was driving when he ran his chauffeur over and killed him?

A couple taken from my Ford days.

A molested 1.6 ghia built in Germany so Ziebarted and why its not covered in rust (note the nearside headlight rusting though). Engine was a Burton stage 2 and previous owner had jacked the rear and fitted some nice lights on the axle. Real classy. A few trips to the scrappy sorted that. Midnight blue I think the colour was. Taken around 1990.

One of my fave cars. Modena green and had just been resprayed (as you can tell). The contrasting RS side decals were not available from Ford (and no t'internet then) so never stuck them on. That was 1981 and sold it for £800 eek Original engine with around 65k miles. I luvved that car....... cry

Love it - my first car was a 1.6 Ghia in bronze. That's a very late one on a "Y", in fact shouldn't it have the Ford Oval grill being so late?

My guess it's an import from somewhere else (Eire/Channel Islands etc) as in those days an import was registered corresponding to the import date, not the manufacture date as now. There were very few Mk2 Escorts left unsold that got a X reg, let alone hanging around for 2 years unregistered to get a Y plate (last cars were built mid-summer 1980)

I recognise that nearside headlight rust. redface

Here's mine from the other end of the Mk II production run - a 1975 on a 'P' plate.

Love the aerial and the rear shelf speakers - more items never to be seen again!

Errrrm. The speakers are still in my loft, along with the spotlights. biggrin

And that aerial was a fine DV27 for the CB radio. nerd

Chrysler 180 - I wonder how many of them survive - not terribly popular even in the 70s so I don't suppose they are loved much as classics!

My Dad had one of those when new ... don't think he kept it long! Even as a 5 year old I remember not thinking much of it.

With the full vinyl roof and badges on the C pillar, it looks as if it is the range topping Chrysler 2 Litre as opposed to the 180. wink
