oh i'd have one, definitely, i'd change the exhausts so they actually route through the sides and to hell with the noise. I wouldn't even mind it in left hand drive

Will the MK2 Cerb (2+2) be that kind of money? And then: this monster is made to turn heads, it's a real looker. TVR make great looking cars but this is more American . . . and that's a different taste. I like it very much btw but I'll have a decent Cerb thanx.

Impressive car, but its £80+ UK price tag looks bloody expensive compared to a Sagaris or Marcos GT2 - especially considering that it's made in cheap labour South Africa.

Huge mark up being made by someone I think.

Graham, I respect your opinions but not this one. You have to admit this is a totally different breed . . . The Saggy and the Marcos are a bit in one line . . . but this is something else. Like comparing a Z3 M to a Cobra.

Nice article by Nick Hall, but one or two things are incorrect, or have been changed since Nick did his road-test, many months ago.
Whilst Nigel Hulme (Le Mans Coupes Ltd., in Sussex) is the UK Importer of the Superformance Le Mans Coupe - as it is known here - my company, Rod Leach's 'Nostalgia' in Hertfordshire, is the sole UK distributor.
All UK Coupes are now Right Hand Drive, unless ordered otherwise. There are already 8 Coupes on the road in the short time that they've been available here.
Price, including 12 months' warranty, road fund licence etc., is £78,000 plus VAT. The importer operates a fully comprehensive back-up, collection/delivery and servicing facility from the Sussex premises.
(The US price is now, I believe, $89,000, for L.H.D., of course. This is without engine/gearbox, installation, 'sorting', duty and VAT, S.V.A. - and much more besides. Huge UK mark-up - we wish!.)
Engines are built by Roush, and the new fuel-injected units (with the inlet trumpets looking like Webers) are now rated at 520 + b.h.p., and are happy burbling along in rush-hour traffic. Gearboxes are 5 speed, more flexible than the original 6 speed.
The side exhausts aren't 'fake' - the gases run through them, but right at the outlet in front of the rear wheels, they turn inwards and travel to the back of the car. One customer had this 'diversion' removed, but reversed it after a week - the sound, though wonderful, was just too raucous.
We have one R.H. Drive brand new Coupe in Guardsman Blue wth twin white stripes for immediate delivery - to be registered September 1st.
Also available is the subject of the article - L.H. Drive with 1,900 miles, still 'as new' and with full warranty etc., at an excellent saving on list.
Both cars can be seen at Le Mans Coupes Ltd. in Sussex.
Delivery time for new Coupes to customers' choice of colours is approx. 4 months from date of order.
We shall be exhibiting at the International Classic Car Show at the N.E.C. Birmingham in November, and at MPH 05 at Earls Court. Top Gear TV should also be featuring the Coupe in the next series starting this Autumn.
From a personal point of view, this is a 40 year old dream come true. The Le Mans Coupe is a truly wonderful creation, and I'm proud to be associated with them. Now I just need to sell enough to be able to keep one (for purely business use, of course!).
Rod Leach.

Looks interesting...any better pictures as those in the article are far too arty farty!!

Not being rude but the importer seems to be doing all the work. Even the two cars for sale can be seen at the importer. WTF does the distributor do? Again not meaning to be rude!

Rod says '£78,000 plus VAT'

So that's £91650 then.

More photos etc. can be found on www.superformance.com - and for another independent UK road test go to the News Section on the left hand side of their Home Page, then to the Andrew Frankel article.
As distributor, I handle all the sales, marketing and PR aspects, including advertising in Classic Cars, Octane, MotorSport, Classic and Sportscars etc., getting publicity in the press and TV, manning Exhibition Stands (12 hours standing chatting, no breaks!), organising road tests, handling telephone and E-Mail enquiries and meeting potential and existing customers.

Have to disagree there dinkel. Ignore the fact that the Superformance Brock coupe is an update of a legendary racer and they are essentially the same type of car. ie, Specialist GTs with big powerful front mounted engines driving the rear wheels in a glass fibre coupe body over a spaceframe chassis.

The Brock coupe is even designed to be a road going GT, with things like wind up windows and air con that the original racers obviously never had.

Considering that both Marcos and TVR make cars like this in the UK with UK labour and overhead rates and sell them for around £50,000 you wouldn't expect a similar South African car to be so much more expensive. Especially not when the same factory builds Nobles which also sell in the UK for around £50,000.

Wow that's overpriced!!! Save HALF your money and go to British American Daytonas turnkey instead - of course it's a replica of the original rather than an reworking but I guess you could live with that

www.badaytona.com

If you were at Le Mans you may have seen it.....

PS working sidepipes!

I want one soooo bad, I have always adored the original version and this to me is just perfection on wheels

I personally don't think that the price is too high, when you consider the performance and exclusivity that you are getting with this car.

This is a genuine 200mph car that looks like a '60s racer and doesn't cost Ford GT money, which is surely it's closest rival?

I know which one I would choose (and it hasn't got a blue oval on the nose)!

The Brock is more exclusive both in numbers and in looks. The Brock has similar performance -yes - but bigger appearance partly due to it's heritage . . .

I think a Brock for ±50K wouldn't change Saggy / Marcos buyers' minds.

Ford GT in GULF livery looks yum
