Video: LFA vs GT-R, ZR1, GT2 RS and Ferrari 430

Need we say more? Thought not

As far as we're concerned, this is the way to do motoring journalism. Forget your in-depth comparisons, your extensive spec sheets, your colourful magazine features or your slickly presented internet videos.

Why? Because all you really need to do is find a decent track (say for argument Fuji Speedway), equip a Lexus LFA, a Nissan GT-R, a Corvette ZR1, a 911 GT2 RS and a Ferrari 430 Scuderia RSD with a camera and some handy drivers, and give 'em three laps to get on with things. It's like a real life version of Gran Turismo. Brilliant.

Sadly, however, it seems that this is the last-ever episode of Japanese motoring video series Best Motoring International, and that's rather a shame...

For comparison you can see:

Lexus IS-F against the LF-A here at VMax: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0jbkzW7TRE,

Porsche Carrera GT vs Nissan R35 GTR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mql05LU0yz4 and

Mercedes C63 AMG Wagon vs a Nissan R35 GTR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2luAjh2KSg

Interesting to see some comparative cars in my opinion smile

Fuji is a terrible terrible track!

Brilliant video all the same.

Given broadly comparable vehicles, Tsuchiya usually crosses the line first in these movies.

That guy in the GT2 RS seemed a bit hit and miss with a manual gearbox.

Hmm, how quickly will this thread descend into PH'ers telling us all how terrible the GTR is and how they wouldn't buy one because its a bit "playstation".

Fun video though, and by heckers like, that LFA sounded epic.

Given the way the GT2 driver was guessing at the gearbox I'm amazed that the car survived! If he'd mastered that, and had bigger balls on the brakes down the main straight, He'd had been much closer to the GT-R to give him a hard time.
Bit embarrasing for the Ferrari...

At VMax, they were bonkers off the line, and having passengered in a couple, they corner like nothing else.

But they do sound a bit like my dyson, and can be a little digital and soul-less compared to more raw less computerised cars...

Crikey, the GT-R didn't half leap off the line, it went past the Ferrari as if it was standing still.

However as a 911 man of course I have to accuse him of jumping the start...

hehe That's what I was going to say. A huge straight line followed by endless corners and hairpins with no rhythm. Yuck.

Yeah, that was quite a shock! Not neccessarily a jump start - God bless the press-and-go gearbox...

I suppose that's because it's the only 4WD car there?

So bad you'd be forgiven for thinking Tilke designed it.

Would love to know what tyres they were wearing.

Doesn't the majority of those cars come on track day cut slicks (GTR, GT2, 430 Scud) and the LFA and 'Vette run normal road rubber? That's worth 3-4 seconds at least over Fuji.
