Just found the beta labs bunch. Downloaded a few two important ones being bubbles and another which is meant to learn my phone usage and make my most used apps available on my home screens.

I have just tried bubbles and it is excellent. Also have something called iirc sleep screen which has scrolling low light backgrounds on the phone when it is locked or sleeping.

Sleep screen is absolutely excellent, been using that for a few months.

Was using Nokia Bubbles for quite a while, and whilst it was utterly gorgeous to see, I never used it - always tend to just use the side slider to unlock the phone.

I find the contacts bubble to be an excellent feature. No need to unlock the phone go to phone book scroll through to find a number and it scrolls so smoothly.
Much smoother than the phones other normal functions. I think that if they really wanted to get on a winning streak all they would need to do is make the whole os run as smoothly as bubbles does.

I think thats the idea behind the PR3/Belle update, PR2/Anna is somewhere between.

Yeah hope so. The big Q is when??? Best i can find is anna somewhere round now to sept but when are we gonna see belle and what will it offer.....

Mega pain in the bum. I just dont get why nokia arse around like this. Bubbles is a great example of what they can achieve on symbian so why has it taken this long. Why so many revisions which have simply been patches to try glam it up moderately.

Why not simply go full fat bubbles style i cant see it using much more power than symbian does already.

I would also argue that nokia could really give the competition a pasting if they were to launch a phone with a 1ghz processor.
A separate gi of around 500-750mhz and around the same of ram with an 800-1080 liquid black screen comparative to apples with symbian belle.

So that sort of operating spec on an e7 n8 type phone and i think the competition would really struggle to compete and i cant see why it wouldnt be possible to package in the same phone space as the n8s present hardware with some creative thinking.

Developers apparently find symbian a much easier platform to work on than ios not sure about android or wm.

I know there are rumours of something along those lines from nokia anyway but still merely a rumour so who knows maybe q4 2011 or q1 2012 we will see a knockout from nokia with wm7 and that hardware spec.

Did a little test last night and filmed a few minutes driving in the dark.

Very stable image due to phones image stabiliser and my screen mount being quite solid and sound is quite good however camera doesnt seem to work that well in the dark unless i was missing a trick. Any thoughts?

Tried it during the daytime and it works great (better now i have a much more stable mount).
