Car Getting Painted This Week! Which Blue To Choose??
Discussion
Hi i got a call from the guys that are painting my car yesterday and they want to know the paint code of the colour i am going to paint my car. The car was an Imperial Blue type of colour before but more purple (see photo's) and is going to be allot of hassle to try to match/re match in case of a scratch etc. So i was going to go with standard Ford Imperial Blue, however I've become rather fond of my one off Purple/Imperial Blue and wondered if there was a standard colour out there that was a closer match to the colour i had before?
Any help finding the perfect colour will be greatly appreciated! In fact I'm open to other colour suggestions also as long as they are a bit special.

We have just sprayed a customers griffith in a very similar coulor to that. Started off as Ford Cosmic Blue but we played with it to get an exact match. If you want a standard colour that is easy to match in future, I had an impulse blue monaro which was is not far off the colour you have there.
I had a 1992 imperial blue mica coloured Ford some years ago. It was the blue with some red mica in it giving the darker, more purply look in certain light - really nice on a well lit Mobil forecourt at night!
There seem to be many Ford Imperial Blue colours in reality (at least 3 ISTR). Maybe there is a different code around at that specific time that led to more red mica weight? Maybe a chat with your local specialist paint mixer might help to get a close match off a standard Ford swatch and a wet car (dunno why they do that) to cater for any fade that will have happened despite how brilliant your car looks in the pics.
I thought it was a nice colour and it seems that lots of others did too as many people (especially laydeez) came up and asked what colour it was.
ETA - it seems Google agrees... get it matched off the car. See how different the second colour looks to yours
