I haven't watched Columbo since 1975 so I can be forgiven the misidentification.

What was Jim Rockford's car? It was blown up every second episode but the following week he'd have it back in good nick. They must have had good body shops in Southern California back in the 70s.

Have you ever noticed that 99% of American films / Tv series in recent years has had a token Volvo in it

I think Bergerac's car was a Singer or a Sunbeam. It's on permanent display in a museum in Jersey now.

No, it was a Triumph 1800 Roadster, as Fatboy says.

James Herriot in "All Creatures Great and Small" drove an Austin 7 (until he became a partner).

The father of a guy I was at school with supplied several of the cars that were used in the very early series' of All Creatures. I used to see the owner popping to the shops occasionally in the Austin 7 or one of the others (that time has caused me to forget - but the guy was a bit of an eccentric, as was (is, probably) his son). Back then they were merely old cars; by the late '80s they had probably been valued through the roof and I guess he sold them, 'cos I haven't seen any of them for years.
All Creatures was filmed (mostly) in the Dales, whilst Heartbeat is filmed up on the N. Yorks Moors. A couple of weeks back I spotted the breakdown truck from 'Aidensfield Garage' on the back of a flatbed on the A19, presumably being driven to location. The modern flatbed completely dwarfed it!
When I was a kid, my grandparents lived down the road from a demolition firm that used ex-army stuff like AEC Matadors, Scammell Constructors etc.: to us they were bloody massive things that took up most of the street!

That's right. They had a dickey seat.
I bet not many of you know what that is !!

Also The Sweeney had a couple of Mk 1 Granadas, and Minder (Dennis Waterman) had a Capri. George Cole drove an XJ6.

Wasn't there a series in the 60s called Route 66 featuring a couple of All-American boys driving a Corvette?

His playboy brother raced Formula Fords.

Frank Cannon drove a Lincoln Continental.

My favourite is, of course, The Prisoner's Lotus 7 Series II. It's one of the reasons (probably) why I own a Caterham today.

The car most people think is a Bentley in the Avengers , is actually a .....VAUXHAL !

In All Creatures Great and Small , Peter Davis ( the young one ) had an Mg TF .

I think Steeds Broadspeed Jag is my fave .

Crockett's black Ferrari Daytona Spyder (albeit a fake based on a Corvette - but it still looked sooooooooo gorgeous) and then his white Testarossa (real).

Oh, and Tubbs' Caddy

I think various versions of the white Testarossa where knock offs as well. If you look closely at some of the episodes, you can see the reverse lights engage before they charge off. This usually happens on an automatic transmission car when you go from park to drive...

The only Vauxhall that looked like that was a Prince Henry. But I'm afraid it wasn't, it was definitely a Bentley. That radiator is unmistakeable.
