Used to be that when some prat came steaming up behind me doing 120 on the motorway flashing their headlights like mad, or pulling out of a junction without even a cursory glance; theyd nearly always be in a 3 or 5 series. Now it seems to be a (n often white) audi of some description and most of the BMW drivers are bimbling along in grey 320ds, more likely to slow traffic down than anything.

Why?!

Extend that to VAG drivers in general, usually sporting a 2.0TDI engined Passat/Golf/A3/A4/MPV thingy.

I have noticed HOW angry dad's get in their MPVs when mum and kids aren't in the car - in fact one fully road raged me when I was cycling the other day - apparently driving 1ft behind me, revving and beeping then passing with about an inch to spare is normal driving. Protesting resulted in the good screeching on his brakes, jumping out and pretty much wanting a fight.

These MPVs are obviously not very calming...

can you actually tell them apart? they're all just bland, boring, tiresome pathetically designed euro-boxes.

Agreed- I have gone from loving Audi's to detesting them.

To be honest it's not make/model specific.

Saying that... The most aggressive drivers I've seen lately are men driving people carriers such as the Scenic and Zafira. I can only presume they have had their sports cars replaced on the instruction of their wives.

If people put prejudice out of their minds and really paid attention they'd discover theres just as many pathetic drivers in Ford's and Vauxhall's as in anything else, but because theres so many of them they get drowned out.

What a load of tosh, it's the driver that matters, not the bloody car he's in. Do I go from aggressive motorway man in my BMW to passive bi-curious hairdresser when I drive my MX-5 ? No. I'm the same guy driving in the same manner regardless of what I'm in.

Stupid thread.
guessing you are an audi driver then?`

i didnt say every driver of a any particular brand was a bad driver. merely that i have noticed many audi drivers displaying poor road etiquette. im sure that there are a couple of good audi drivers out there. maybe.

sorry if this has been done before, dont watch top gear and havent really seen it mentioned on here!

I have to say that the last few times that I have done long journeys I have been tailgated by almost exclusively Vauxhall Insignas. Go figure.

Huh!? Audis are one of the best represented companies in terms of bright colours from what I see! Plenty of white/red/blue ones as opposed to the complete range of dull grey-black colours of most cars.

Been done to death but..... can't honestly say that the car makes any difference whatsoever. We could all recount bad driving stories with all sorts of different makes, models and gender driving it.

Used to be that Volvo drivers owned the bit of road they were on and in the 70's, all broken down cars were Vivas.
