Advert designed to look like you are bidding for the whole car in order to catch out those who dont read things properly.

Not at all.

He’s a breaker just sneaking around the ebay rules.

Nobody will bit on the item, people will just call his phone number instead asking for specific parts off the car.
It happens all the time.

The picture of the car is just to show what bits there are.

Carefully worded ?
it clearly says in the title it's for a wheel nut ???
"mgf spares or repair unfinished project wheel nut"

if you look at that and bid thinking it's for a whole car you are a prat !

New to ebay are we ?

"mgf unfinished project parts available to complete or will break only 49000 miles starts &runs perfect starts 1ST time any questions 07990783257 steve PLS NOTE YOU ARE BIDDING FOR WHEEL NUT collection only"

Seriously, you can't see that ?

You think writing it in the title and in capitals in the auction equates to a scammer?

Slap yourself.

It is a crap advert, but he is not trying to mislead people.

He’s trying to let people contact him outside of ebay without paying big ebay fees.

Lots of breakers do it.
Sometimes for wheel bolts, sometimes for wingmirrors or hub caps.

How is it misleading?

it says:

YOU ARE BIDDING FOR A WHEEL NUT ONLY

its not like that is hidden and away from the main body of text.

How is it misleading and hidden away so its difficult to spot?

He is not.

He is advertise a car for spares by "auctioning" off the wheel nut but letting everybody know there is the rest of the car for grabs, just ring him.

Cheaper than listing each part and paying ebay fees, only thing you have to be careful of is people thinking they are getting the whole car and bidding on the actual auction. He has been, let everybody know by putting it in the title and in capitals in the auction for stupid people who think it is a auction for a running car. He doesn't want any bids, if some one does bid they will get the nut.

Simples

Have you slapped yourself yet?

If not, do it.
