Trading Setups

So the posts on the trading journey thread got me thinking about what the professional traders on here use for hardware.

I upgraded to 4 monitors in the New Year and whilst it took some getting used to, I really enjoy the setup now.



Apologies for the poor photo quality, the iPhone is in desperate need of replacement.

4x LG 23" HD LED monitors, Aavara monitor stand.

I've seen some beastly setups on Google with 12+ screens but for a independent FX trader that seems slightly overkill for my needs!

One little laptop....



I do have a multiscreen, but as all trades are carried out with trading bots on a VPS I only need to monitor the accounts.

That's just ridiculous. I've worked on trading floors for the last twenty years and never,ever seen anyone with that many. Just ridiculous! There is absolutely no way you can ever "need" that many screens. Four, five maybe even six screens I can actually justify pretty easily.....but twelve?

The aren't many rules in the city but one of the cast iron ones is "never look at porn on your trading machine". Many algo trading porn purveyors have found that out an expensive way!!
