Are Merc drivers the new Audi drivers?
Discussion
Based upon this mornings drive from the midlands to Liverpool I've drawn the conclusion that Mercedes drivers have become the new Audi drivers. I witnessed 2 extremely aggressive acts of driving, one of which left me rather shocked! So what do the good people of PH think? Has the stereotype shifted?
P.S. all Audis and BMWs seen today were all driving fine.
P.P.S. What's more worrying is that I'm soon to become a Mercedes driver myself. Eeek!!

This morning it was, some smug tt in his sorry little company-car had to barge in at the last minute.
Yesterday, it was a pike-y transit van cutting across both lanes of a dual-carriageway without indicating.
The day before that it was a mong in a Honda Civic, overtaking dangerously.
Live with it, another day another retard in a different car.

Absolutely this.mwhat is with the obsession with assigning a manufacturer a behaviour? It was around before Clarkson, and it just makes the person sound like a bit of a cock. Yesterday, it was a transit van cutting across both lanes of a dual-carriageway without indicating.

It always amazes me that people on PH are often so quick to defend the MX5 whenever someone calls it a girls car or a hairdressers car yet make such sweeping statements about every Merc, Audi, BMW driver being a cock
Seriously? It amazes you? You know we're on Pistonheads... blugnu said:

You need to keep up, you're months behind.
Merc drivers WERE the new Audi drivers. But now BMW drivers are now the new Merc drivers. It's come full circle.
It used to cost me a fortune chopping and changing premium German cars to try and stay ahead of (create?) the stereotypes. I've ducked out of that game and bought a Volvo.

Seriously? It amazes you? You know we're on Pistonheads... Mercedes, BMW, Audi one thing in common a lot of drivers buy/lease them for the oneupmanship. These drivers are arrogant and think they are better than everybody else and this is demonstrated in their driving. Bullying other road users because they think they are better due to having more money. Also applies to a lot of other expensive vehicles I'm thinking Range Rover, Porsche etc. Their driving smacks of frustration. Maybe due to having to arse lick all day to move up the corporate ladder, working long hours and having a crappy commute surrounded by other tools trying to get one car ahead.
