Please, can someone tell me where the hand brake cable adjuster is located on a Vantage.
Mine is a little bit slack, I thought it was around the lever but I can't see it.
Thanks in advance.

I have found them, there is an adjuster on the cable at each hand brake caliper.

Each full turn of the adjuster nut is equal to approximately one click on the hand brake lever.

I have adjusted each side by the same amount and the hand brake now holds the car on 3 clicks.

Hi -

I am trying to figure this out on my V8 Vantage and I keep seem to locate the adjuster nut you mentioned. Do you have to take the wheels out to do the adjustment? If you have any pictures of this, that would be awesome. My handbrake warning light is always on because my car thinks the handbrake is engaged even when it's not. I can see the silver striker not depressing the button all the way down to turn off the warning. Thanks in advance.

The adjuster nuts are on the brake calipers not on the lever. You need to do it on a ramp with the wheels taking the weight otherwise you can end up over tightening and leaving the handbrake slightly on

So would the adjuster nuts be on the back side of the caliper and would I just use a regular socket wrench to adjust it? I had it on ramps last night and still can't figure out with one was the right nut. Thanks again.

THe manual doesn't have a good pic of the area. I looked at mine as best I could, it appears to be the large nut(s) that's inline to each caliper, It actually looks like two nuts one that tightens on the other. YOu can't use a socket on this, it'd have to be open ended wrenches. If it adjusts like other cables, you should loosen one and tighten the other to take up tension.

My 2 cents anyway.

I wanted to provide an update to this thread. I was able to adjust the parking brake properly so that the brake warning light goes away when handbrake is released. Hopefully - this may help other in the future with this similar issue. Thanks to all for pointing in the right direction.

A special thank to DB531 for providing the exact information I needed to fix this issue. I did not even have to jack the car up. The adjustment was made with the sitting firmly on the gound.

This is actually important
Many do it whilst it is on the ramp, when the suspension is loaded with the weight the adjustment is often too tight.

Logically ..you would think that to tighten you would move away from the wheel…towards would be counter intuitive..(shortening rather than lengthening the cable..love clarification too…cheers

hi everyone .

ive been sortign this exact thing this weekend .

the full way to adjust correctly is to slack the cable completely off and unhook from the caliper.
then work the caliper lever to ensure correct action and to take up an slack
reattatch the cable and tighten equally until you get 4 click at the handbrake handle.

even though it will work and hold the car at any point you have to keep adjusting and checking
theres no adjustment at the lever.so incorrect adjustment at the back will not turn the light off.
