Quick way?
Put a regular type jack (tool kit style) under one of the front jacking points and raise up until you can fit your trolley jack under the front subframe cross member (going in under the front bumper). Jack up and onto both front axle stands.
Jack up the rear using the rear cross member.

I would like to get it on axle stands to give it a full spring clean, maybe also take off the bumper to clean out the rads, even though they were new one year ago. How do I go about putting it on axle stands with just a trolley jack? Idiots guide needed....
The only recognized way I know is to lift it by its tires/wheels then lower it down onto jack stands located (and with proper soft pads to protect the body) with the jack stands located at the take up/lift points.Check the owners manual for the location of these.
All other lift points are risking damage to the side rails or other areas of the car/body.

Isn't there a spigot on the engine specifically for jacking? There is on the non-turbo 996 isn't there?
Anyway, the chassis is so stiff you could jack one corner and the other side will come up anyway
There's a solid bit of metal in the middle just behind the ARB,as far as I'm aware you can jack the rear of the car up there.Anyway, the chassis is so stiff you could jack one corner and the other side will come up anyway

indeed however you cant get the 4th jack stand in using this method. jacking up via one jacking point will lift both front and rear wheels on that side. place a jack stand under the empty jack point will leave the other up in the air when you take the jack away allowing a stand to be placed here.when you jack up the other side of the car now though you can get it in the air and place a jack stand under the free jacking point but you cannot get the loaded jack out without it lowering the car at that point. attempting to lower sees the car pivot around an axis made by two diagonal jack stands, not good.
with an extra jack or jack stand one could brace the car under a sub frame so that the jack could be removed and a jack stand placed under the last jack pad but its easier just to do it the way i posted.
get the car high enough that you can raise the front end by lifting the front subframe in the middle (if your trolley jack isnt low enough) and place the stands under each front jack point.
then go round to the back, jack up on the suspension cross member (theres a flat horizontal surface designed for jacking, though always use a rubber puck or piece of wood) and place the stands under the two rear jack points

I jacked up on a jacking point, removed the wheel and put the axle stand under the wishbone.

when i read this i expelled a yell that was almost an anagram of your user name !!!!!X4
Personally I dislike leaving the suspension slack over the winter.
I also think Porsche only recommend that the jacking points are used too.

seriously though Jez the cast alloy control arms are definitely not a good area to place axle stands to rest a GT car on...
the only safe areas to raise the car are the four jacking points & the front or rear subframe cross members.
