I saw a few guys raking bins in the centre of Aberdeen tonight. This is not the first time I have seen this going on, but it is the first time I have seen a pair of guys systematically searching every bag within the bin with torches and carrying rucksacks and holdalls. The speed at which the police got mobilised says it probably isn't a rare occurrence, but unfortunately I think they missed them.

So just a wee heads up - shred your documents and keep your eyes open for these wee bds.

Happens a lot around our area in Rosemount, I challenged a foreign guy who was just about to rake in the bin closest to my home. His english was rubbish but he pretty much said that he was looking for old clothes and food. Just told him in my own way not show his face around here again.

Sure enough recently I spotted some different minks in the bins further down my street so out with the dog I went for a look and they were standing further round tucking into a box of chocolates obviously taken out of the bin. Just phoned the police as I'm sick of it, said police didn't even turn up...

I've taken to putting dogste into my rubbish and ensuring I shred every letter as a precaution.

I would imagine that if they have resorted to scavenging food from refuse bins then their identity theft enterprise may not be going to well.
