I recently inherited a 55 gall freshwater aquarium from a friend who was moving. I have had a 32 gall community aquarium for around 3 years, so after cleaning and allowing the larger tank to bio-cycle for a week or so, I incorporated the two communities in the larger tank.
Everything has worked out well, no casualties and all flora and fauna now well established.

There are two fish in the community I inherited that I can't identify and I wondered if anyone might help me. Please excuse the frankly shameful phone pics - I hope they are sufficient:

Subject #1 is around 1 inch long and is a ridiculously luminous yellow in color with an orange lateral band....

Subject #2 is about 1.5 inches with long whispy fins and a pronounced sword-tail. It is pale grey with a plum-colored lateral stripe...

First one looks like a Gorami many different varieties.

The second as you say is IMO a sword tail.

Again many different varieties.

Have a browse and see what you think. smile

Second one is a "lyretail" Swordtail.

Thanks for the help so far - looks like a match on the Lyretail/Swordtail, but the yellow guy is definitely not a Gourami, of which I have 3 different varieties.

I tried to get a clearer pic and also a shot of my Blue 3-Spot Gourami for contrast.

I've had a dig through a "What Fish?" guide and browsed t'internet with no positive match. Not the end of the world - just curious as to what I have here.

Thanks very much for the help with this - I googled Albino Black Skirt Tetra and this is what came up:

Body and fin shape pretty much identical - so this must be close to what I have. I don't see anything quite so ridiculously yellow as mine, but that's close enough for me, so thanks again!
