Anyone know how many 1-Series-M coupes BMW built in total?

BMW originally planned a production run of about 2500 over one year, but customer interest and orders outweighed original plans (was not expected) so production increased to 6309 over a 1 production year.

Much more popular than BMW envisaged. The 1M was a test bed for a smaller M with a small number production, but the interest sky rocketed and the media bragged about it, so BMW reciprocated and made what they could within the 1 year period. BMW UK kept the numbers to 450.

The number I posted are from the official M-Power website and the email I received from M with info in regards to the official 1M owners polo shirt.

If BMW UK took 450 of the 1204 RHD European, where did the other 754 end up?

I thought UK was the only RHD in Europe??

Ireland, Cyprus and Malta from memory, but surely they can't have had all the other 1M's.
does the figure cover non -European countries?

Australia and South Africa also received the euro spec 1M's, but a couple of hundred to Aus and much less to SA.
