I've just got some Textar front pads from carparts4less. Looking in Textar's own catalogue it shows the same pads across all of the e39 range.

I thought they'd be specific to the M5/beefier models?

Same pads, caliper are the same as the 540 but with an "M" cast into them.

It's just looking on bmminiparts or realoem it shows the pads for the M5 as being a different part number from the rest of the range.

I'm very disappointed with Textar pads on my E34. Textar were OEM manufacturers but you won't get OEM compound spec from car parts 4 less.

How do you know?

I've used them whenever I've needed brake pads and have no complaints so far. The part numbers on the textar box match the part numbers on their own catalogue.

Mine must've been an exception then. RealOEM told me that standard fitment were the Textar pads so I ordered a set and having used them I don't believe for a second that they're the same product that comes in the BMW boxes... In fact they're being removed and replaced with OEM pads as soon as I get 'round to it.

The E60 535D has the same brake pads (front and rear) as the M5. They may be a different compoound but they are totally interchangeable.

Car parts for less is another name for euro car parts

It's not unusual to get a different compound pad made by the same manufacturer

It's the same site but with any existing 'discounts' already applied, all the time.
