Lego Ferrari F40!

Christmas comes early as Lego launches 1:15 scale kit of the legendary F40

Everyone who likes cars knows the Ferrari F40. Everyone who likes cars probably loves the Ferrari F40. But only a very, very small percentage of those fans can actually afford a Ferrari F40, given they are now £750,000 and upwards.

Gimme!
Gimme!
But now Lego has come to the rescue! You can now own an F40 and build it yourself for £69.99. Alright, so it's still just a model but the challenge of assembling 1,158 parts must be equal to managing that famously spiky twin-turbo V8. Probably.

The Lego F40 is a 1:15 scale model measuring 27cm long, 14cm wide and 8cm high. Faithful to the original, the Lego kit features a functioning bonnet where the tyre sealant is stored, moving pop-up headlights and even the cabled door handles. Superb!

The Lego F40 is available to buy now on the Lego website and in Lego stores. Naturally we have one in to test, um, just how accurate the model is. Absolutely no enjoyment will be derived from the build. Coming to PHTV soon!

Like the children we are, my wife and I love making LEGO and so, since it was her birthday yesterday, I got her one of these new F40 sets! We've already done the T1 Camper Van and the Mini, so this should look good on the shelf next to them. biggrin

I had the 8865 kit as a kid which was F40 esc but this looks awesome, its far more than id spend on a lego kit (I prefer the smaller kits smile ) but for £70 this looks very good.

Panel fit and finish better on the Lego model than the original.

The Lego model must, by design, be non cat, non adjustable + plexiglas side windows.

I shall buy one for a friend who has just bought the real thing in this spec.

Possibly one of Lego's best sets - like the Mini & VW Camper.

Just wish they'd build a similar Porsche.

Well worth the £70.00.

Mini and Campervan already sitting proudly on my shelf, looks like I've just found myself what I want for Christmas!

Also who the hell voted it <10 on the PH meter...

I loved Lego as a kid, but never as an adult would I spend half an hour chucking plastic blocks together, and the end result still looks stupid. It's basically a seaside scene puzzle for men.

I don't get it, are the proportions a bit off? We shouldn't judge, it could have been made by a dad for his kid after hundred s of hours in a shed. Seen in that context, it's better than a Little Tikes toy car.

Ordered one for a relaxed day in my upcoming week off work

Considering buying a second one... I think these could become quite collectable in a few years

Except they are not limited like the premium large star wars sets (which did well). They will sell a vast ton of these up to xmas and beyond.

I assumed as it's only being sold direct from Lego it would be a limited run?
