'Cayman S' door decal placement on 981
Discussion
I had them fitted to my white Cayman to add some contrast - as I recall if you just line up the left and bottom of the backing paper about 1cm from the door edges it looks fine. I also removed the chrome badges on the rear hatch and added a decal on the rear PU.

Unfortunately, I did not buy original Porsche decals as they were ludicrously expensive (£180), and bought through eBay (£15), so the backing paper is basically to the edge of the decal. I'm just going to play around and eye ball it and make my own measurements - doubt I can go that far wrong!Edited by gtsralph on Tuesday 17th November 13:02
Thanks everybody else who has contributed to this thread, I'll post back some pictures once the decals are on!
I also purchased some from e-bay for my 987. If you apply a small amount of washing up liquid to the area you intend to put the decals, it makes it easy to move them around to find the position you want.
Edited to add: Make sure you get as much of the washing up liquid from beneath the decal as possible before removing the top layer of paper.

It's water you want, the detergent acts as a wetting agent. Add a drop or two of detergent to a sprayer bottle of water and spray liberally over the area you want to apply the decal to. Peel off the backing paper and position the decal. Slide it into the final position (get the bottom line of "Cayman" level with respect to the bottom of the door) and squeegee out the water (a credit card works well) then carefully lift off the application paper. If you find you are lifting the edge a letter put the application paper back down and burnish the problem edge with the back of a fingernail.Edited to add: Make sure you get as much of the washing up liquid from beneath the decal as possible before removing the top layer of paper.
