Cant speak for you (You're not important enough to have your own wikipedia page) but they were quite council. Hitler was lower class, abusive alcoholic father, Stockholm syndrome mother. Classic council.
You clearly have no idea what goes on behind middle and, indeed, upper class doors.

Morrisons make great sausage rolls, a foot long one will be lovely. The supermarket is definitely less council than Asda or Tesco.

And as for Tim D, report the fecker,if he can shift an engine his back can't be that bad!!!

Evening all - just for my education was wondering whether this is a common situation...

This evening has been an eye opener..I don't often venture into deepest Bristol's council areas - not that I avoid just don't have cause to go there - but today gumtree came good for a long saught part for my resto project and deepest Bishopsworth beckoned....

Turned up to be truly gobsmacked - an obvious council house - or ex council house nice 3 series convertible buffed to perfection and new astra on the drive pristine garden and everything very well kept.

Deal done, chatting so coffee offered and gratefully accepted - into house - absolutely palatial fitted out with the absolute best - far better than I own... not exactly my taste however - but each to their own.....obligatory 60" TV with all the toys, chatting about holidays and find they've been to Mauritius already this year, the Dominican Republic beckons then to round out the season a trip to their apartment in Bulgaria....

With me so far....? Yep council house both he, she and obscenely large offspring in recieipt of good old state funding - he bad back, she depression and the lardball god knows....... turns out no one in the household has worked for over 15 years and have no private benefit provision.....

Now I'm by no means a doctor - but he helped me lift 150 odd kilo's of engine into my car without a wince, she was the most cheery, tanned, & hospitable woman I've met in a long while,

Came away feeling a little pissed off at funding their very very comfy lifestyle by actually paying tax.....

It's pretty common if you know how to work the system and maximize free benefits for your kids, pain, etc. and then top it up on the black economy. Know one person who has 5 kids and has a good house and car and has not worked a day in ~15 years.
Benefits alone wont pay for that lot, 2 decent cars, gadgets, living expenses, nice holidays and a holiday home, there will either be some work or some kind or money that the DWP arent aware of, lottery win or inheritances that have been done in cash, maybe lots of debt ?

People can, with the right combination of benefits can live quite well if careful, but not that well, most folk on benefits are not living like that, in fact most in full time work arent, something going on.

Indeed, but this wouldn't be PH/Daily `Mail unless somebody could relate a tale like that, I would love to know what sort of conversation people have where they get people to freely admitted to being on benefits and not working for 15 years whilst listing all the holidays they have had, most on here would throw a hissy if you dare to ask what they earn.

I'd say that very much depends on the circumstances. I'm the only earner in my family with a net monthly salary of approx £3k pa. We also get some benefits, and are eligible for others that we don't claim.

We'd only be around £200 per month worse off if we claimed all the benefits we're eligible for and I gave up work. That £200 is around the same as my commuting costs so the net figure would be about equal.

Don't get me wrong, some days I do think fk it....but I actually enjoy working, providing, and supporting my family.

Can I please still be council for doing the calculations at least?

Had a moment of dismay when I found myself surrounded by a council family negotiating a rocky cliff bottom in Devon at the weekend.

It was easily traversable terrain for any moderately fit individual but quite evidently NOT suitable for a heavily greggnant dolite and her beer bellied 'man'. The two kids - Natalia and Aiden however, were off like a shot, having a great time climbing over the rocks and running out of sight. This obviously worried the greggnant, who was screaming NATALIAAAAA, AIDENNNN, GET fkING BACK HERE' over and over again as her kankles collapsed with every step she gingerly took.

It's created a bit of a stir in the office - everyone has come to have a look.

I bought another one for sharing. This one was for me though.

It wasn't bad at all actually - and the 1650 calories should see me through the afternoon.

By buying one for others to share you have had council points deducted as this counts as socially positive behaviour.

Unless you can prove it is a long-term plot to make them all obese and force them into mobility scooters.

Some people just can't help themselves, that's why. They're so fking smug at gaming the system they can't wait to tell someone about it.

It's been 20 odd years though and the area is much much nicer than I remember... the zafira count is however massive!!!!

Holidays - we recently returned from two weeks at Symonds Yat - council as fuq.
Really? I'm disappointed, spent many happy holiday there in my yoof (30yrs ago), did lots of walking, canoeing, walking across the Biblins Bridge. I'm amazed that it is Cahncil, I'd have thought it full of delightfully-named Boden-clad children on camping staycations.
I'm rather surprised too. I've just got back from a long weekend camping in the Forest of Dean with my eldest daughter and, the Forest towns aside, it was a Council-free zone. The Symonds Yat crowd was much closer to National Trust than online gambling, that's for sure.
No, the SY hardcore is still OK - we stay in Whitchurch next to a humungous camp site (this year's attraction a ferris wheel with light show) and the butterfly farm, lazer quest, maze...everything lazy peeps want next to pubs and a bookie.

But get on a bike and pedal down to the Biblins and back up the other side - barely a tattoo in sight.

We go there 'cos it's very good value (and the street theatre, naturally).

Good grief!
I'm doing one of those fasting diets at the moment and I'm sticking to 400 calories a day, so that would feed me for 4 days.

I haven't eaten meat for over 30 years but that's even got me drooling!
