I've got one of these Stanley thermos flasks and it's excellent. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy so you would not want to take it with you on a long hike.

I have 2 of the stanleys. One is for work and has taken 10 years of abuse, other I use for hot water on continental trips. Water stays hot all day. Brilliant flask but it is on the heavy side. Lifetime warranty as well.

Depends what you need it for / how big.

I'm often on the road so have the Thermos Work Series Flask, keeps my drinks boiling hot for over a day and in the summer is great for keeping my water cold.

Avex travel mugs are superb. One handed operation, so great if you're driving, and completely leak free.

I have a LifeVenture flask:

I got it because:
- It looks like an artillery shell
- It looks like the sort of thing the SAS might bring their hot chocolate in while on secret missions

Had it for years - works well and keeps things hot for a long time.
Sadly the current model has quite colourful text on the side.
i had a couple of their smaller ones which blew the vacuum after a year or so - went back under warranty but the replacement also failed.

Some of my friends have used tesco steel / Alu flasks - seem OK and not too expensive

Make sure the liner is metal not glass ( which breaks if dropped)
