All one gets from the Swiss model is tgatvthey have guns but keep them at home. That model here would have made no difference to any of the three recent attacks.

Surely all we would need to do is make sure the bad guys are wearing black hats and the good guys white hats.
Then we'd know who is who in a gunfight- easy!

Beards and no beards?

Hang on, Chuck will be a bad guy? I will be a bad person. Oh heck.

OK. Rethink. Anyone with a guns is a bad person...... nope.

Erm. Hands up who is not a bad person? No, really, stop messing around, are you a bad person or a good person cos I have a gun and I played COD.

Oh what the heck, I spend an hour at the range everyday so I am going to shoot the guns/knives out of everyones hands.

Making up numbers of jobs, no great surprise.

This came out very soon after the election.

Coal production in the US is (nearly but not quite - in terms of long term though may as well be) at an all time high whilst employment levels are at all time low. This is presumably due to improvements in technology and machinery.

So does Trump want to bring back coal manual labour at the cost of production, or increase production which doesnt appear to need physical labour? I wish someone would ask him this direcetly where he couldnt deflect.

What pits can he re open if existing are already running with the staff they have? Or are there more seams they can and pits to get at?

e.g. When the pits were shutting around here, Tower Colliery (Hirwaun) had a workers buy out and kept running for many years. As with all pits, the cost vs gain took over and it had to close.

CNN that spouts constant fake anti-Trump propaganda has been caught faking up London terror reports.

They rounded up a sparse assortment of Muslims with posters denouncing the attack, arranged them behind the cordon, packed them together behind the reporter, and framed it up to look like there were hoards condemning the attack.

Manipulating a scene like that is about as bad as you can get in terms of journalism malpractice.

Not that we needed more proof that they don't report the news anymore, just their personal politics dressed up as news.
You think a group 2 rows deep is a hoard? Blimey. On that basis, the crowds at Trump's inauguration must have been as massive as he claimed, despite what could be seen in photographs...

The pits are not going to re open. There's no demand. To misquote The Boss "those jobs are gone boys and they ain't coming back".

There are fewer than 50,000 coal miners here, compared to about 400,000 people working in renewable energy, a number that is growing all the time. States are not going to turn the clock back, Trump is just giving false hope to his people in the Appalachians.

Honourable mention also to Billy Joel's 'Allentown'.

Do you think that it was Trump who pushed to have Qatar ostracised.

He must be assuming that the US isn't going to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

Jammy get. I finally got to see him at Wembley last summer. Would love to see him somewhere more intimate, but the window for that has long since shut I expect. Bloke's a legend.

I agree, a total legend. MSG is 22,000 capacity, so pretty big but not on Wembley's scale. Did you get to hear his guitarist Mike DelGuidice sing 'Nessun Dorma'? That was pretty special!

Oh yeah! And Chainsaw doing Highway to Hell was amusing.

Does he do the audience vote thing at MSG gigs? I was disappointed at 'The Stranger' losing out to 'Just the Way you Are', and torn over Leningrad v 'And So It Goes'. But I'm being really picky now. Overall I was staggered at how good he sounded in such a big arena, and I was on the pitch about a quarter of the way back, so not too bad a location in the great scheme.

I bet Trump couldn't give a flying fk about rock music, the teetotal gimp.

Ah yes, I saw Chainsaw doing Highway to Hell at the NEC and also the MEN Arena in '06.

Yeah, Billy still does the audience picks. I was happy enough to hear Vienna over Summer Highland Falls. He also mentioned the Manchester attack and did 'A day in the Life' as a tribute to the Brits. I felt quite emotional.

It has been lovely to forget Trump for a few minutes!

I've been to more gigs and festivals than I care to remember over about 30 years, from Joe Satriani in front of 40 people at the Birmingham Hummingbird and Mark Morriss (Bluetones) in front of about 20 in Reading a few years ago (he's awesome live), right up to that Joel at Wembley gig and such other mass delights as Dire Straits and Oasis shows at Knebworth, but I can honestly say I haven't enjoyed many as much as that Joel show. An utter, utter, classic. I wish I could live it again, I was moved to tears in parts. Love the man.

I wish the world could press reset on Trump and erase this dreadful episode from history. But I suppose we wouldn't appreciate the good and the great without the evil and the worthless.

Wow, some great gigs you've been to there. I agree wholeheartedly with what you say. We can't do too much about this whole awful Trump episode, so we need to appreciate the great and talented people we have.
