TVR Chimaera: Pic Of The Week

Spring may just have sprung this week, and what better way to mark it than a drop-top TVR?

While we may be speaking a little too soon, the fleeting glimpses of sunshine witnessed this week have put us right in the mood for the warmer months. Indeed right this moment Dan is off inspecting the state of his Eunos at the paint shop, and Ben was last seen eyeing up an MX-5...

To mark the occasion, POTW today features the best British sports car scene we could find: there's a TVR, a winding country road and, if not blazing sunshine, then certainly a dry day. Looks a pleasant way to spend an afternoon, doesn't it?

The car itself is the Chimaera used in our PH Buying Guide shoot last year, this one of the shots that didn't make it into the full story. What better way to give it some time in the limelight than as a new desktop wallpaper? Click the links below to select your size, and if you have any similar shots then we'd love to see them!

If its warm enough for the roof to be down; but not too warm for the roads to be crowded, then its seems a fine way to spend an afternoon. Lovely engine, although the neighbours in your street may not always agree.

8 years ago I bought my TVR Chimaera. Collected it from Bristol on a glorious sunny Saturday, took the roof off, then absolutely hoofed it home along the A4 past Calne, Marlborough, Hungerford. The same route as Clarkson, Hammond & May took in the £10k supercar challenge.

The Chim's gone, but took the roof off the VX220 today and booted it up to Castle Combe and back on a similar route to the above. Saw plenty others having similar fun; Evora, 3-door Sierra Cosworth, Toyota AE86, even an old boy in an Austin 7.

Nice colour of Chim in the pic above. Mine was a darker starmist blue; wasn't my first choice of paint.

Mine is tantalisingly close to being back on the road.

Drove it around the farm i've been storing it on for the first time in 2.5years on the weekend. Its been in bits until now. Still smiling.
