Bentley Continental 24 special edition for N24

Big, bad racing Bentleys hit the Nurburgring 24-hour this weekend - here's one you can buy!

This weekend will see those roaring Bentleys participate in the N24 for the third consecutive year, so what better way to commemorate this than with a special edition? Bentley has unveiled the Continental 24, a limited run of ... you guessed it ... 24 to celebrate the pending spectacle of its cars getting stuck in with Mercedes, Porsche, Audi and others at the legendary endurance race taking place this weekend. Based on the 700hp Continental Supersports, there are no differences in power and torque figures (most would consider them already sufficient) but in the usual style there has been something of a makeover inspired by the racing version.

The car is available with a duo-tone paint combo of either Monaco Yellow or St James' Red over Black Crystal. Or, if you aren't keen on showing your race affiliations in quite such vibrant fashion a single-tone option is available. The 21-inch wheels can also be finished in yellow or red accents. Meanwhile the engine cover is finished in carbon fibre, as are the door mirrors.

In the cabin, treadplates, door panels and fascias are finished in carbon fibre. If you forgot what colour the duo-tone paint is, not to worry, the diamond quilted Alcantara seats are accented to match the exterior colour. Bagging one of the 24 examples will cost you a quarter of a million euros and deliveries will start in July. Before that there's some racing to be done...

Not really interesting at all if they haven't won anything yet.

These specials always seem to work better if its at the end of a run of a certain car that was particularly successful in the event.

Suppose there is no stopping the marketing team making one of those too, one day.

It's a chavvy piece of dog sick! It simply looks as rough as a bears arse. No class whatsoever. Money doesn't buy class. This shows it. Bloody VAG group. More total bks.

Bentley has not really been traditionally classy since the last decade

Not a fan of those - however, it's GREAT that Bentley are taking-part in this stuff - that should be applauded and encouraged...

The Conti is well past it's sell-by-date but they still keep making them ever-faster and more bonkers which is also good - I drove one once, it was probably the fastest thing I've driven in terms of sheer *press throttle* *smash face into horizon* - nothing shabby about that.

Bentley has had an image problem for a long time tho - they started-off as car for racers, became 'Rolls Royces for drivers' before finally being "luxury VWs" or worse 'cars for WAGs'

I'm sure whatever they replace the Conti with will improve things ;0

I surmise Afzal Kahn had a hand in the design of this beauty?
As previously said by a previous poster, it just shows that you can't buy class....

How does this get through to production without someone somewhere within the company saying... "This is really st and people are going to take the piss out of us for it"?

It would be tacky if it was a Vauxhall FFS let alone a Bentley.

Agree. For me, the last classy looking Bentley was the Brooklands which must have been released late 2000'a...maybe 2008?

That thing looks vile in my opinion.

The colour scheme doesn't even match the race car, I don't get it?

Staggering that they've managed to make it even uglier. Other than Skoda, is there any other car brand that German ownership hasn't completely ruined?

I look forward to the cars with 50,000 miles on.

One paint job later, thank you.
