Can you make the screen go down while you drive and still have music / phone working or can you only lower the screen if you turn off the system completely ?

I have scoured the owners manual on the aston martin app .

Question is for a 2017 12 Vantage s

No, I don't think you can - at least I havn't figured out how to.

There is an option in the setup which is something to do with keeping the screen down, but I have never figured out exactly when it applies - maybe its because I always have a USB stick in when I start the car up?

Well, on my Vanquish, once the sound system is turned ON, you can retract the screen by holding the sound system on/off button for a couple of seconds, and vice versa.

Yes that will also work on the Vantage with the new waterfall console.

Press the central on dial once for music off. Press and hold then screen folds down.

Well I never knew that! Just confirmed and it works in Kermit (AMi III) too, many thanks!

Another 2 sec press and it comes back up again, oh and the music keeps playing if you didn't pause it!

Now I finally know what the "remember screen down at poweroff" setting does in the options!

Oh that's fantastic , thank you all .
So basically hold down the button ? What about the options , do I need to change anything on the settings ?

Yes - Press and hold the lower rotary for 2 seconds.

You only need to change the settings if you want it to stay down the next time you start the car - if so there is an option to do this. See the AMi III Setup Tips thread which I have now updated with this info. smile

Thank you all so very much for taking the time to reply . Fwiw I love this part of ph. The aston forum seems to be one of the last bastions of civility left here and on the www as a whole .
