Stratstone Ferrari Celebration: PH Photo Gallery

PH's dedicated supercar snapper gets to another Ferrari celebration; looks like it was worth the journey!

As I'm sure you are all aware by now, 2017 is the 70th year of Ferrari. I'm sure you'll also be aware that Ferrari is making the most of this anniversary with a series of worldwide celebrations. Ferrari North Europe in particular have embraced the occasion, having done a 'lap' of every official dealer in the UK taking a LaFerrari Aperta (the car that celebrates the 70th anniversary) and the 812 Superfast with them as they go. Each dealership has hosted a 70 car (sometimes more) parade. It's easy to forget, but 70 Ferraris driving in convoy is actually quite impressive, especially when repeated several times over up and down the country.

What a pain when all the parking is taken by LaFs

Previously we showed you both Maranello in Egham, and HR Owen in London's respective parades and celebrations; and at this moment in time the tour has come to an end, finishing up in Edinburgh and then Belfast. However, before it was all over we did manage to make it further North to Cheshire to catch the Stratstone Ferrari convoy, and it was certainly worth the trip!

Despite torrential rain, cars gathered at Capesthorne Hall before convoying through Alderley Edge to the showroom and service centre in Wilmslow. The turnout was seriously impressive. In total there were three LaFerrari Apertas, a LaFerrari coupe, an Enzo, an F12 TdF, a 599 GTO and 365 Daytona to name a few. Not to mention the further two LaFerraris waiting at the showroom and service centre, alongside two 250 GTEs, another Enzo, TdF and GTO, a 250 SWB and Lusso and of course the star 812SF hidden beneath a red sheet before its grand reveal!

The celebration offered probably one of the strongest convoys yet, as well as a very interesting and rare opportunity to look around the service site. It was also quite excellent to see the number of enthusiasts of all ages who lined the roadsides to see the procession of prancing horses as it passed through Cheshire, a sight which some of them may never see again! Hopefully you can get a taste of the day from the photos below, and if you're disappointed to have missed out once again on all things Maranello then fear not, as the 'Grand Finale' takes place on the 23-24 September at Silverstone Circuit and promises to be an amazing spectacle!

There were literally hundreds of us taking part or watching yet your pictures show hardly anyone present, indeed there's only one photograph has any people on it.

I'm glad someone agrees that we're here to see cars not people! But similarly it's wrong to talk about the atmosphere and show no one around! I did include this shot but it didn't make the final cut...
