Purely out of curiosity , if you were lucky enough to get the next allocation which would you choose , manual or PDK if there is an option ?

I'm unlikely to get allocation again but my thinking is PDK.

PDK is for girls :-) but you buy what you like I guess.

New cars are so dull, I don’t get why people want driverless cars.

Very true .

Question is what percentage go PDK?

Have to say I have a hankering for a Pdk 981 GTS and am thinking of flogging my 987 spyder .

Good question. PDK is phenomenal when you get a 9000rpm screaming 4.0 500hp motorsport unit attached to it but what would it be like in a detuned Carrera engine I don't know. Manual suited the GT4 very well because it wasn't, and didn't feel, overly quick.

PDK.

For no other reason than it would probably substantially improve the dire fuel consumption of the 'manuel' GT4.

Loved my GT4 but always felt 'what if' with Pdk...

Sadly think my 987 spyder has to go

Try one before you sell one of Porsche best drivers car.

PDK suits the 981 range and it’s a great car, but you feel very disconnected vs your Spyder.

Depends what you want, 981 Boxster gts PDK would prob outdrag a GT4 in the real world and does every thing every well, a better car in some respects than the 981 Spyder.

Ha usual top comedy.

More predictably inaccurate and contradictory posting from the top GT3 basher 'but I'm nevertheless hoping for a 2018 slot'.....just to flip it.

It would definitely be a manual GT4.2 for me.

Not really interested in a 981 spyder . My 987 is a great example with all the right options and still 18 months Porsche warranty and a 2.5k refresh by the last OPC .

Not sure what I want next TBH but the Cayman does hit a sweet spot with me and spec is important .

Have you got to the running in miles in your 2 year old Spyder yet ?

You post such st but don’t use your cars, you flipped the GT4 and talk prices up in every post. Then try an say you do more miles than I do lol

I actually love GT3's and what they stand for just don’t like some of the bullst owners post about them.

What don’t you like about the 987.2 Spyder, most owners are keepers of these now days.
I cannot even think about selling that car.

To basic ?

Have you thought about an R8 , they are quite fun and very well built and still look the part.

For a change will you please show the OP RS3 some respect and keep the thread on track for once.

If you can read the title this is about the GT4 gen 2 and NOT your usual boring 981 Spyder bashing.

Yes we all get that you love talking up your GT4 and 987 Spyder...... change the tiresome record ffs.

My Spyder is run in.

My GT4 is in my garage.

I don’t talk up the GT4 , it is what it is, I have been more vocal about it’s down sides if anything. You just talk up EVERY car.

Let’s have a laugh tell us the miles on both cars :-) as you do 5x the miles I do.

Really?

Despite you just posting this drivel on the GT3 2018 allocations thread,

"I would even go so far as saying the GT4 is more drivers car than the new 911 (GT3) even in manual form."

And thats before hardly anyone, never mind you, has even driven the car!!

You can't get more talking up bks than that.

I think Porsche need to keep the pricing similar to the GT4.1 which also means keeping the GT4 basic so I don’t think PDK will be an option IMO

Also the 'role reversal' and pricing between the 718 Cayman and Boxster relative to the 981should help keep pricing at sensible levels for the new GT4.

I hope it will be PDK to save me having to install PDK gearbox in it. Can't be that difficult.

I have been told there won’t be a new GT4 but a GT4RS. This would give Porsche the opportunity to distance a high performance car from the standard 911 range and put something competitive in the GT4 motorsport category. Think GT2 rather than GT3.
Anyone fancy a normally aspirated flat 6 with 430 bhp?

Hang on a minute - you spent a lifetime saying that GT3’s were st - maybe under various old alias’s ....... confused.com & speechless !
