If anyone was at the Goodwood Trackday in June, they may remember that I was the unlucky sod in the Red Tamora that manage to blow up my engine😭

The car is rocking again with a 4.0 Red Rose engine courtesy of Str8six as well as my bank account but the good news is that the old engine lives to fight another day, possibly not what Blackpool intended it to do but at least it’s still part of the family.

If you can see from the photos the piston is still stuck in one of the bores complete with the conrod sticking out

One is in the bore, the other is in my garage!!

Like it, could have put holes in the glass over the bores to put bottles of wine in!

I’d have to go for a motorbike engine to get lager cans in.

I was in the grey Cerbera, waiting in the pitlane to go out in the next group. I'm glad you've got the car back on the road, and you've got yourself a nice bit of furniture to boot.

I did suggest to my wife that I might try and make it myself - she just laughed - probably the right response

I just googled Engine Coffee Tables and found Alex Simpson from vee8design.com I dropped off the old engine block and a container of pistons and then collected the table a couple of weeks later. Alex was really good to deal with and I thought fairly priced as well. It worth having a look on his website, he's got some great car stuff including Top Gear style sofas

Love it. How is it finished? ...is it polished, or painted with 'chrome' paint?

It was powder coated so it looks like chrome

It looks fabulous, I didn't actually think anyone would've been able/prepared to polish it jester but I had to ask!
