Films I watched this week (Vol 2)
Discussion
Mule - Pretty decent if you ignore Eastwood venting his annoyance at the younger generation.
He is looking very frail these days mind you but still has that air of "don't f*ck with me" about him.
As an aside, i bought a brand spanking new telly and dare i say that the picture is TOO GOOD in ultra HD? I don't know what it is but there's something about the ultra clear, noise free picture that just makes it look over processed.

Have a look through the settings - you might find that the default setting *is* over-processed, as that is often the setting used for shop display purposes.robemcdonald said:
Le Mans 66 / Ford vs Ferrari
I’d heard good things about this from non car people friends, so decided to take a look.
I’m not sure how historically accurate the story is. I’m also a bit unsure about fast and furious style down shifting on the Mulsanne straight, but it’s a great movie.
Greats turns from Damon and especially Bale.

Yup, horrendous idea. Totally wound me up. I’d heard good things about this from non car people friends, so decided to take a look.

As if the ridiculous downshifts weren't bad enough you had the drivers only using 80% throttle on the straights so they had a bit in reserve and don't get me started on the sound of linear acceleration from being on the brakes, getting round the corner and THEN starting to accelerate once on the straight.
Very, very piss-poor sound editing and artistic licence.
Aside from that it was great (historical inaccuracies aside) .
ETA: just been reminded; Mrs Miles annoyed me too. Mostly her accent.

Sounds like a film about motor racing that is good despite the poor depiction of motor racing. I knew it was going to be a bit off, but it was so often that I just got a bit bored by it. Also laughed at the 200mph wheel to wheel, 3 second look-over at the baddie in the Ferrari, and the concentration when driving in general. But, hey, the wife really enjoyed it.
Flight 93
I've had this for ages but only just got round to watching it, a very realistic portrayal of what happened to United Flight 93 on 9/11 as well as everything else going on at the same time. Obviously raised massive questions about response times from the FAA and military which I assume have been dealt with by now (almost 20 years later). Even though you knew the outcome, it was edge of the seat stuff and very gripping.
Highly recommended - 9/10

Godfather & Star Wars?
Aye sorry I thought it all made sense but even as I typed it I thought will anyone get these! But I really thought it was that good. In my defence, when I was a youngster Disney was the height of crap-not even my sister watched it (the '80s). When the good stuff started happening again in the 90s we were way too old to enjoy any of it, well apart from Watcher In The Woods So since I've had daughters I've bought them all the Disney films my (younger) wife enjoyed and as a family we've loved pretty much all of them and some of them are absolutely brilliant. Frozen is just a fantastic bit of story telling but to be able come out with a follow up (that wasn't part of the original story) that's so well jointed to the original tale is work well done. The fact it has some pieces such as Elsa's "moment" that are IMHO even better than the original is terrific. If you have kids, get yourself down to see it and enjoy yourselves.
