Yes Cabin in the woods is very good.

The Machinist is free on Prime if you've missed it. Christian Bale is an insomniac questioning his sanity, as do you as the story unfolds. 8/10.
Very dark film, well worth a watch. Christian Bale is such a great actor, pretty extreme how he lost weight for this film.

My favourite actor. He's brilliant in everything, not least The Machinist. Super film.

Driving Miss Daisy

Sublime brilliance, with truly outstanding performances from Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman. Timeless.

It's not great. But I watched it with my lad who laughed his head off all the way through it. So it gets extra marks for that.

Artemis Fowl - quite good. You can see them trying to syndicate it out a bit..

Felt a bit like a cross between Bond, Spy Kids and Harry Potter.

7/10

Watched it but thought it was more of a kids film. Getting ripped to shreds on IMDB/Rotten Tomatoes because it doesn't follow the books, everybody is a critic these days. Had never heard of the books so that part of it never bothered me. Your kids will love it if they are still off school.

I was amazed how such a successful corporation could make such an awful film smile

Shame, and it’s not like they didn’t leave it open...

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was a great romp of a film, although the anachronisms and continuity errors really jarred me out of my suspension of disbelief on far too many occasions and spoiled the film a little for me.

edit: Just to be clear, I did really enjoy it

Yeah, just watched this the other day and enjoyed it. A puzzler that has a Memento feel about it. Literally dark - visually, with not much colour. You could kind of guess the result from one part of the film at the funfair, but otherwise it is one that probably benefits from a second viewing!

Yes, I seldom watch films twice but I thought afterwards that this one might be worth it to see what was there in plain sight but unseen the first time.

Actually not a bad romp, I do like Luc Besson's better work. Unfortunately it was marred by some utterly nonsensically long "fight" scenes. It did much better when it left the fight scenes behind. The first big set piece had me laughing out loud at the extras in the background just running about in random directions, apparently unable to find the exit to the restaurant they'd all come in an hour earlier. I say laugh, that soon passed as it dragged on and on and on.

The time shifts were annoying early on but then it became apparent later why they were happening. Overall 7/10 for the majority of the film. 1/10 for the bits that reminded me of the Godawful fight scenes in MI2.

Bradley Whitford being one of them, also played Josh Lyman in The West Wing.

Still hilarious, and a great action movie as well.
