Thought I’d share with you guys my Integra DC5 that i’ve recently(-ish) bought.

I bought the car at auction in Japan through JDM Auction Watch. It was a grade 4B with 114000 kilometres and the auction sheet indicated that it was in very good condition, so I went ahead and placed a bid.

I found out later in the day that I’d won the car for a little over my budget, but JDM Auction watch pays up to £250 over your maximum budget. I would have been kicking myself if I lost the car over £140 in the end haha. Once the car was taken to the docks I was sent a load more pictures in much more detail of the car.

Excuse the dodgy chrome look headlights! laugh The car sat in the docks for a couple weeks until it was all de-registered and the next boat to Southampton was available. After a long wait it landed in Southampton at the end of January and cleared through customs within 24hrs of landing. I got the car transported up to my house in Aberdeenshire the week afterwards where I could finally see what my money had bought me after 3 months haha.

Apart from all the dirt and dust from the car being in transit, it was absolutely immaculate bar a couple of small marks, which are to be expected on a 15 year old car. I had already bought a set of OEM headlights so these were changed over the day I got it and I think everyone will agree they look sooooo much better laugh looking over the car I also found that it had an aftermarket Recaro SR-6 drivers seat, and a set of Tein coilovers which are a couple nice little bonuses. I decided from here that I would just let it sit for a while in hopes that the weather would improve. With all the salt on the roads and it only being a weekend car, there was no rush to get it on the road.

As the weather has started to pick up now though, I’ve started the registration process, so last week it went off for an MOT, where I finally got to get a proper look underneath it and it’s unbelievably clean.

The paperwork’s been sent off to the DVLA now and it’s in their mercy on how long it will take to register! Hopefully I should get a V5 with my reg within the next week or so.

Future plans for the car at the moment is to get it under sealed, tidy up a couple of the little nicks on the car and probably an induction kit and exhaust system. Oh, and of course drive it properly laugh

I’ll try keep this thread updated when I do various bits and bobs to the car. Thanks for reading, if you’ve made it this far laugh

pic links broken buddy.

If you haven't already, get the rear carpet up in the boot and check for rust/water...the rear light seals on these all fail sooner or later...not expensive to replace but worth doing if you don't want rust and a pond building up.

Get onto "Integra Type R owners" group on FB if you aren't already too, useful info and a friendly bunch.

Lovely example. I’d buy one if I hadn’t put so much money into my EP3. Sod waiting 3 months for it to arrive though, I’m very impatient laugh

It passes a lot quicker than you think! 100% worth the wait though.

How lovely, bet that's amazing fun on a B-road. Congrats!

Reminds me a little of my m8's Accord Euro R CL1.

Really? I imported a CL7 with Torque GT, was the longest 3 months of my life!

They were great though, gave me the shipping details so I could literally follow the boat online and see where it was. Worst day was when it was arriving in Southampton port, which is about 25 mins from my house, but then getting taken all the way down to Torquay to be prepared for collection. Knowing it was so close to my house but I still had a few weeks to wait was torture!

I really didn’t feel like too long for me! Haha it was over the Christmas period though so maybe that kept me busy and kept my mind off it laugh I was tracking the boat too, found it quite interesting all the different ports that it went to. Honestly the longest bit for me has been waiting for the DVLA to send back this V5! I sent all the paperwork off at the start of last week and the thought of waiting another week is killing me, I just want to take it for a proper drive now!

Just need the weather for it now, mine has done about 200 miles in the last 4 months.

Depending on where you are based i highly recommend CSK in hoddesdon if you want the underseal doing properly.

I’m up in Aberdeenshire, i’m Going to be using Automek to underseal it. Very reasonable pricing and apparently do a st hot job.

good stuff...it's super hard to find anywhere that does a decent job of it these days, it's a bit of a dying art.

Had mine redone as my DC5 has been in the UK 11 years, wasn;t bad at all underneath considering, but got them to steam clean it, rust treat a few surface bits, and dinitrol the whole lot.

Definitely do it Kerwin! I remember speaking to you on Facebook when I had an Ignis sport for a few months. Any idea what you want to import?

3 months is quick! My last import took 5 months! That was annoying.
